I am new to this site, and for that matter have never blogged or chatted online at all. If I just send this out to space at least maybe it will get out of my head. I have a stepdaughter that is 12, and I have been married to her dad for 7 years. We also have two children of our own that are 5 and 4. I have tried very hard to love my stepdaughter, but I just don't. Don't get me wrong I care about what happens to her but I just can't get past the fact that I don't like her. She lies about everything and always has. She doesn't appreciate anything that is done for her or given to her.
This site saved me when I was trying to come to grips with fact that my fiance was never going to be a father , but instead a drinking buddy, wallet and babysitter for his children(I am all for babysitting grandkids, but aren't you supposed to be allowed to say no without fear of the kids getting ticked off?)
Anyway I want to thank Dawn for starting this, and thank all the souls that after being pushed by this or that sought this place.
SD's mother signed the papers yesterday giving us full physical custody. She moves away today.
I've been dealing with her for 10 years. She's been hard. DH and I are both a little in shock.
She will be paying us cs, she pays half of all medical and half of college and she pays for all of SD's visitation travel, all of it.
Like I said, we are a little in shock.

Well I know that I posted recently that our GAL spoke with SD and SD7 told him that he wanted to spend equal time with both parents. Well that has all changed when one of BM's family memebers contacted the GAL telling them that SD had a change in heart. Needless to say everyone was told last week what SD's thoughts were and know all of a sudden one of her family memebers thinks she has a change in heart. So GAL went to the school met with SD and SD told him that she wanted to live primarly with BM and see us everyother weekend. We currently have 50/50.
that my fiancee got denied full custody..it's hard to believe that a mother can go 8 months of not contacting her child and collect food stamps with the kid on the case and NOT get into trouble for this...It's simply appalling to me. There has to be a way to get this woman investigated for food stamp fraud...but I don't know where to start...this isn't a revenge thing for me...I feel it's just wrong for people like this to get away with getting 300 dollars a month for 1 person...
My daughter has ADHD but we're waiting for her to see the psych about medication..is there anything you guys do for your children that doesn't include meds that help them settle down and be less rambuctious?? Advice please!
There are few times of year as emotionally loaded as the holidays. For many families, what should be a time of laughter and sharing turns into a turf war and popularity contest. For kids stuck in the middle of two households, it can be a time rife with stress as each side battles for its own traditions, leaving the child in the middle to make sense of it all.
Things with them are just going down the toilet. He has asked them to stop asking the ex for time. They keep going around telling everyone that will listen that he never lets them see the kids. It is a flat out lie - they NEVER ASK HIM. They have lied to him about asking the EX and now he is finding out about it. Somehow they think it has something to do with me. He has tried over and over to explain that he only gets half the time he used to and it just isn't possible to let them see the kids as much as they used to.
My 7yo SD is one of the most Jealous children I have ever seen. She is extremely jealous of her 3 year old sister ( they have the same mom and dad) and now that I am pregnant she is gearing up to be worse with the baby. Everyday she regresses more and more. The other day she was looking at my cellphone where I have a picture of the ultrasound as my backround and she asked me , "why do you have a picture of THAT?" I'm not going to lie this hurt me. I explained to her that THAT was the new baby. ( Oh and she already knew what the ultrasound was) How do I deal with this?
So I have absolutely no time to get on here anymore! but last weekend we had SD and it was wonderful. We had the best time. Friday night we went to eat and then came home and made ornaments. I wanted a "family" tree being our first Christmas together. So we had blast Friday night. She was so nice to me. And she completely forgot about the cell phone.
