La La Land (Whose Skids Are These?)
So I've been trying to get a good tenant for 6 months now on this one three bedroom unit that is completely remodeled. I've had three good prospects back out at the last minute for various, what seems like, frivolous excuses.

Back On The Meds
So Chef has a new doctor that he likes. He is not pushy and militant like the former doctor. I noticed the difference when I went to him as well.
Chef is back on a new blood pressure medicine and on a statin for cholesterol which seems to have a calming effect! I'm not sure what it is about these meds but he has been actually sensible and reasonable (caveat to the best of Chef's ability which is not much).

Pumpkinhead's Perpetual Yard Sale
Pumpkinhead (OSS stb 28) I've noticed is constantly running a yard sale. I'm not sure how they accumulated so much stuff at this young age but I know that the Girhippo is a pig and a hoarder. "Everything Must Go" is the theme of the day.
If you can recall he most recently asked Mr Not So Neutral (Chef's half bro) about electrical repairs at Pumpkinhead's house. Of course, Mr Not So Neutral knows nothing about electrical work as he works in a landfill but tried to refer Pumpkinhead to Chef which irritated Chef (and me) to no end as they have been estranged for 15 years now.

A Day That Shall Live In Infamy (20 yrs)
Twenty years ago this day, I foolishly allowed Chef's size 10 workboots to cross my threshold.
We happen to be staying in a ritzy hotel in Buffalo to visit Awesomeson, Awesome DIL and Awesome GD3 before Awesomeson heads out of state for 3 months starting in August to continue his electrical education in preparation for civilian life .
I mentioned that it was 20 yrs ago that Chef moved in (to Chef) and he says "time sure does fly" and I added "when you're having fun..." To which he sarcastically went "ha ha."
Then he said "I knew it was in the summer sometime."

Whose Skids Are These?
Had 3 applicants over the last 2 days (who apparently can't read either--my ad says credit score of 600 required minimum) apply to one of my apartments and here are their credit scores:
451, 489, 460
Ages 53, 36, 27 respectively. I.just.can't. If I had a credit score like that I would be embarrassed to apply.
I just keep hearing the fail horn from The Price is Right.

UPDATE; You can't make this stuff up
UPDATE: ***Just rented out the unit to a 30 something out of state professional who works remotely. In NYS, you aren't allowed to say "no Section 8" but every S8 applicant I've had failed the previous landlord reference requirement--seems they've all been terrible tenants in the past.

Man-O-Pause Rant
Aka Grumpy old man. Chef has always been arrogant and haughty but he just seems to be getting worse and worse. He's completely off his blood pressure meds now and has gone back to his own routine of drinking and eating whatever he wants.

Chef is Doing better.
I can tell because he's snapping at me and being sarcastic which will eventually lead to full blown yelling at me/ blaming me for things I have no control over or for things that are actually his fault.
He was a wreck there for a while... his toenails were blue/purple his knees were swollen visibly and all of his joints were aching. Took him a whole week to recover and he is still taking it easy. He did manage to put in a new patio door (with my help, of course) which we needed desperately. The old patio french doors were quite literally falling apart.

Grumpy Old Sick Men
So Chef has come down with something...again. He went off his health kick about a month ago. I'm convinced he's lowered his own immune system by fretting over the aging process... can't eat what he used to, can't do this or that, being very pessimistic in general and well, being bitchy to me.
