Pumpkinhead OSS26.5 Buys a House

thinkthrice's picture

Unfortunately it is about twenty minutes away from us.  In other words closer to us than to Girhippoville.

Looks like he and his new wife succumbed to FOMA and a month after they get married, they bought the house with her maiden name on it and his name.  They paid about twice what its worth but I guess that's common nowadays.

CS: Trolling for Dollars

Just when you think it is almost at the end...WHAM!  The NYS CSEU sends a letter stating that the CP can ask for and receive automatically a cost of living increase no questions or paperwork required!

The HousesHitter (YSS20)  is the last of the ferals on CS. He is going to be twenty one first week of January 2024.  At which time CS is  supposedly to end ( Goes automatically to age 21 here in new york state).

He's working full time--supposedly still living with the Girhippo and Step Daddy Big Bucks.

Mr. Not So Neutral Gives An Update

Usually when Chef's older half brother calls, its because he wants something done for free.   He seems to feel an obligation to make sure Chef's disfunctional, disjointed family stays in touch with each other.

This was the pre-holiday call.  They talked for over 2 hours catching up on the latest over in Girhippoville (Mr. NSN lives in Girhippoville as does most of Chef's family... about 25-35; minutes away from us.

O/T The Menu Hijack

Now that I am semi retired and have taken the kitchen back from Chef, I have planned meals that make use of grocery specials for the week and in some cases leftovers.

Gone is the huge waste of food and high grocery bills with Chef impulse buying (based on HIS cravings at the time) at high priced grocery stores. Then making enough for an army.

I don't have it planned out for the week but I do have it planned out at least a couple days in advance.

O/T Personal Injury Attorney Advice Needed

thinkthrice's picture

So a little over two years ago, a distracted driver ran a stop sign and tboned me at full speed.   My paid for car was totaled and I ended up with a broken wrist and two shoulder surgeries.   I researched personal injury attorneys and picked one with good reviews.  The woman who hit me was insured at 100K with State Farm.

Countdown Begins

40.5 more weekly extortion payments to go after paying for what will be 2 decades.  The HousesHitter (YSS 20) ages out first week of January 2024.

Hell some MORTGAGES don't last that long!  CS going to age 21 when they are not in school or are working is just crazy, but this is NYS.

Flashbacks!

I go to a specialist about once a year and in doing so I have to drive past a mall that has a particular store that we used to frequent when the three ferals were visiting.

First of all I can't believe we drove that far to get to the store.  The endless amount of gas wasted driving the brats around was incredible.  I just want to shudder when I drive by there.

Just UGH!

UPDATE: UGH It Never Ends!

UPDATE:  He wants an opinion for his GF's countertops after she received a couple estimates with conflicting advice.

Whew!  At least it wasn't a repeat of last year.  But still we never get anything reciprocated!

As I might have posted before, Chef's oldest half brother   borrowed $900 last year.  He did pay it back, but I had to "remind" him that his self imposed due date had passed.  He acted perturbed that I mentioned it at the time.  He gave some story about changing banks which really didn't hold water.

Speaking Of CS...

I put in a purchase offer on a burnt out duplex that Chef wants to rehab and get operational.

The current owner bought it a year ago at a county tax auction.   She just wants to turn it over to us as she discovered property management is not for her.  As a side note, her daughter is one of my tenants.

We are paying closing costs etc.   My attorney did a title search and come to find out, there is a $7K judgement levied against the property, the former owner (before it was sold at tax auction) that the county failed to reveal.
