Problems at the Basketball Game

Dawn-Moderator's picture

Imagine that. The only game that Bm is responsible for getting ss to this week and there are problems.

We didn't get a call from ss to ask us to pick him up or to tell us that he wasn't able to go to his game so we assumed that he would be there. I had sent all of his gear with him to school. Everything down to and including a bottle of water. All they had to do was have him put on his uniform and get him to school before 5pm for the game. NOT!

Does This Make Sense?

A note came home at the end of last year about ss's school basketball program. We asked him if he wanted to do it and he said yes. We told Bm that he wanted to play and sent her all the info that we had. She agreed that is was ok for him to play so we signed the permission slip and paid the fee. This fee included a t-shirt to be sent home at a later date. So, this Jan. the note came home and said that ss's practice would be Mon. after school.

Is It Just Me?

I am wondering if I'm just cheap or something. Whenever we go out for dinner either with my husband and ss or if my parents take us out, ss wants to order these big expensive dinners. He is a thin 11 year old boy. Sometimes he eats a lot and sometimes he doesn't. I don't think that he should need to spend more than $10 on an average meal(not a special occasion). Am I way off base here? Somebody help!

Stepson Ripped from Our New Year's Eve Party

Dawn-Moderator's picture

I guess is was partially our fault but it was horrible none-the-less. We looked at the holiday schedule and it seemed to say that stepson would be at our house for New Year's Eve. Stepson swore he was at his mom's house last year. We didn't hear form biomom about picking stepson up on Sat. night when he would have been picked up if she had him for New Year's Eve so we thought we were good to go.

OT:Christmas Preparations

Well, I got my first batch of Christmas cookies finished. Stepson watched the Grinch while I was baking. Normally, he doesn't eat sweets before bedtime but since we were having a Christmas moment I bent the rules. Of course I made him choose a piece of fruit to eat first. Then he just HAD to have this sweet tart candy cane. It was blueberry and when he was finished with it, it looked like he had just eaten a smurf!!! He thought it was hilarious! Plus, he got to sample a cookie and he really liked it!

So Proud of Stepson!

My stepson brought home his science test yesterday. I helped him with the study sheet last week and showed him how to do some of the things that he didn't understand. He got a 100% on the test!!! Yeah!! He did it exactly like I showed him. Even though he was a little difficult when I was trying to show him, it all turned out good!!

Good News!!

I just got back from the school office. Stepson's report card looks awesome!! He got mostly A's and 2 B's. We were able to bring the social studies grade up from a C at mid term to an A!! Yippeee! I am so happy! I can't wait to congratulate him!! All of the hard work paid off!
