Taking bets
Paperwork for DH to have sole custody is in the mail. Should arrive Monday at the latest.
Specifically: DH is going for full and sole legal and physical custody. He is going for BM to have court mandated supervised visitation. He is going for child support. The MI Child Custody Act has 11 points. We hit 10 of them. 11th point is only for children over 14.
Taking bets on what BM's reaction will be. }:)

Advice? (O/T)
I'm gonna start this with: Yes, this was a really stupid idea. I know that.
My mother and I share a landlord. My mother was already sending in her rent every month, so she offered to just send our rent combined with hers. (This was back before she started drinking again). Cleared it with the landlord. He was fine with it. I'd give my mother my rent, she'd send one check to our landlord.
My mother hasn't spoken to me since the other night. Rent is due on the first.

Absolutely crushed (O/T)
I got a message from SMIL's son earlier asking us not to visit SMIL & FIL for Thanksgiving. (We were planning to go to surprise FIL. SMIL knew)
I went off. He hurt my mom. He hurt my baby sisters. I told him to stay the hell away from my family.
DH called SMIL to let her know... and found out the FUCKING MONSTER THAT MOLESTED MY BABY SISTER IS LIVING WITH THEM!
WTF!
SMIL wasn't going to even tell us. I guess we were going to drive 24 FUCKING HOURS round trip to visit them just to discover that PIECE OF SHIT was there too! NOT FUCKING HAPPENING.

What to do about BD2? (O/T)
My BD2 has started doing something peculiar (For her)
She'll wake up 20 minutes after bedtime and start howling like she's being murdered. No amount of comforting, rocking, singing, reading, or anything will help calm her down. Then, at 11, she just conks out again. (Bedtime is at 8 and has been since December) Idk what is up with her. The other day I got so fed up with it I just put the gate up to her room so she didn't fall down the stairs and I went to bed. She fell asleep @ 11 on the floor in front of her door.

No good deed... (O/T Long Vent)
One of DH's coworkers gave him a cooler of food because her kids weren't coming home for thanksgiving (she'd apparently stocked up on stuff for them) and she didn't want it to go bad. One of the things had fish in it and no one here eats fish, so I brought it over to my mother's house trying to be nice. (Should have known better)

Inexpensive gift ideas
I'm frugal. Seriously, I will use up, wear out, make it work, or do with out just about everything.
So... with my same mindset... I'm looking for Christmas gifts. All these can be done for under $10 in my experience and tend to go over wonderfully.
Item 1: Sharpie Mug:
Take a $1 white mug and draw on it with a sharpie. Bake at 350° for an hour. Design is now permanent.
I'm thinking of doing this for a few people with their initials/name and a holly leaf and berries. For my one aunt, who loves both coffee and candles, I'm combining it with Item 2...

Who's skid is riding my DH's bus?
Yesterday, a BM marched into DH's school in true form. Her son had started a fight and been suspended from riding the bus for 5 days. She marched into the office demanding to speak to the principal THIS INSTANT. The principal came out and asked what the problem was. DH was standing in the staff lounge and could hear every word going on in the office
The BM: "Your racist Iranian (She actually said Iranian instead of Aryan...) bus driver. He won't let my baby get on his bus because he's black."

I'm so excited!
DH and I are going to a concert on Sunday.
It's our favorite favorite favorite band.
I haven't gone to a concert since before BD2 was born... Heck, I haven't gone to a concert since before SD3 was born!!!
We haven't even gone on a date since BD2 was 6 months old.
I'm so excited!!!

My poor SMIL (OT Vent)
25 years ago, she adopted a 6 week old baby while working at a troubled children's home.
She raised him as her own, on her own, and loved him with everything she had.
She then adopted 2 little girls, ages 3 & 4, when he was 16.
SMIL met and married FIL when he was 18.
He got into HEAVILY into drugs.
He molested the youngest (SIL2) when she was 8.
SMIL paid $15K for him to go to rehab, thinking it happened because he was high.
He broke out.
He tried to rob an old lady bringing in her groceries
He was put on felony probation
