There aren't many of those happy days on here, so I wanted to share mine.

Friday we got the call that a judge actually agreed to sign the order that allowed SD16 to live with BM. I am guessing she didn't read SD's history or BM's for that matter, otherwise she wouldn't have signed them. BUT she did. So, today DH allowed SD to come retrieve all her belongings. She did. She is gone.

Hopefully someone can answer this for me.............
Why do skids refer to their father as "my" dad? SD16 called last night to speak with her father and I answer his cellphone, because she refuses to call the house. She says (really nasty I might add), "Is 'my' dad there?" When did it change from just dad to "my" dad. Is she trying to show some sort of possession?

We feel vindicated!!

Since BM is mentally ill, she receives disabilty for it, and we (used) to receive benefits for the SD's instead of child support. It wasnt much, but it was better than nothing! SD18 has been living with BM for a year now, since that time has met some much older loser who has knocked her up. Great. Anyway, we have to account for every penny spent on the disability for the girls. We can only spend it on them, of course. Or, their needs. When SD18 moved out, she still had 4 months until her benfits were cut off.

Is it ever going to end?????

I swear to the heavens this stuff will NEVER end. Since letting SD16 go live with the psychopath of a BM she has, it has been peaceful until now. We were receiving SSI for the SD because BM is mentally ill and on disability for it, so we get it for SD. We spend every dime on SD's needs and nothing else. NO, we don't allow her to buy tons of clothes, shoes, etc. This has seriously irritated BM, and she called the SS office and filed a complaint against us for "misuse" of the money. We have receipts for every thing! Stupid cow!!

I think I got the best gift any stepmom could ask for......well OK, maybe only ME. My SD16 is a ***ch, and from previous posts, you can see what I mean. The other day I posted about her moving in with BM. Well..... it's gonna happen....YIPEE, Yeah for me. I GET MY LIFE BACK!!!! I can FINALLY raise my boys in some peace. The stupid self serving BM decided on a settlement for CS and it isnt going to cost as much as we thought.....

I tried to stick to the "be positive" challenge by caribgirl, but I failed miserably. SD16 started with her holier than thou act and shot her mouth off one too many times, and I lost it. I did not hold anything back this time. I have had enough, enough, enough.....;enough. You know what I mean? I am soooo very tired of dealing with her and her crappy attitude and DHs inability to correct it. It makes me sick. Of course, DH blames me for losing my temper.....yeah well, get over it. DH says I am the "adult" and should not have behaved that way.

I have been reading a lot in these posts about respect between us and the skids. I think I am really confused about this or really stupid. I have read posts where it will say something like, "I don't disrespect them", meaning the skids. Not long ago, my SD16 told me that she would only respect me if I respected her, WTF is that? I was taught to respect elders and not to behave like she does. What I seem to be confused with is, how do you respect someone you can't stand the sight of? Isn't respecting someone pretty much mutually exclusive with liking them.

OK, well in ref. to my previous post for advice about SD.... DH did take her to the psychiatrist and he referred her to the hospital. As luck would have it, her therapist works there part time in the intake dept. She saw SD and DH and after spending hours with them, said that she didnt feel SD was a threat to anyone at the time she was there, so they wouldn't keep her. She told SD to stop playing games and to get her head out of BMs butt. I love it.....finally someone other than me tells her that!!!!
