Happy New Year everyone! New year but still same old step stuff…
Happy New Year! I haven't posted in a long while but I read everyone's posts about every day.
I have been retired for 18 months and my DH retired about two years ago.
A few things step related to vent about for the moment.
What would you do?

I am super annoyed with my DH and have a massive tension headache migraine. Today while we are in the middle of a project at home he says out of the blue that his DD and GKids are visiting our area for the day. They live several hours away. The GKids want to come by and see our dogs.

Did not mean to hijack.
normally we don't ever really fight or argue. Only times was about his adult daughters which I have been disengaged or estranged from for eight years now.

I have not blogged in a while but read steptalk everyday...my Dad passed away this year
My Dad passed away this past February. It has been a very rough year. My two sisters and I have not been able to just grieve for our Dad as we have had to deal with my Dad's stepdaughters bull crap ineptitude as executor of the estate.
The Will was not filed until July, she has not done hardly anything the estate attorney told her to do to get the property listed to sell.
except to remove some items that were left to her, her sister and her brother in the mirror will of their mom who passed ten years ago.
Subaru vs deer on highway. Not a good ending for the deer.
Tonight DH and I were driving the short distance to town to return some videos. Half way there we collided with a deer. Neither of us saw it coming. Just so sudden. All the airbags deployed. I could not breathe From the dust and fumes. and the Seat belt was so tight. DH got a bump and scrap on his right leg shin. And seat harness rub burn on his neck too.
Is a lie of omission still a lie?
Easter weekend blew eggs. Big chunks. With less that a days notice to me, DH says OSD is coming up and she wants home to have him do the egg hunt with the money in the eggs of course for her kids. I know from my sources that this was in the works, just not when it was going down. So of course it seems every minute DH has to then make some mention of the blessed event....he has to go get the plastic eggs and dollar bills.
If I was not feeling sick still from my cold I would have left the house for the day.

New drama ...this time from YSD
DH bailed YSD out of jail on Sunday. She is in abusive marriage and her DH had her charged and got PFA on her. I don't know the whole story. She has been with this guy over six years and chooses to stay and keep her two sons in this mess. I am disengaged totally from it all and never even seen her youngest child.

OT-New grandson born last night. So excited to go see him tomorrow! This is my fourth grandchild. Two boys, two girls.
Grandchildren are the best reward for getting old!
Ten days before Thanksgiving and already can't wait for it to be over
I just spent the weekend visiting my family and seeing the grandchildren. They are at the sweet toddler ages. DH spent the weekend home with our dogs. He was pouting about something the night before I left. I just left him to pout.
I wanted to spend Thanksgiving with my family this year but it is not going to work out. Too complicated to board the dogs for the holiday and travel and the expense.
So planning to just be DH and me and the doggies.
It still bites when DH goes to see OSD and his ex is always there...
Today the OSD texts DH to say they are coming to our area for the day with her two kids to go to local amusement park. We are in the creek clearing out a downed tree and he doesn't see the message right away. They finally arrange to meet around 5 or so at the park. Earlier I asked him if his ex was going along. Right before he left I asked again. He said she was. I must have had an attitude look on my face cause then he said ' he could have lied about her going along'.
