Adult SKids; my recent experience
For all of you/us dealing with the dreaded adult Skid dilemma, I had the most eye-opening weekend ever.
Allow me to preface by saying that my OWN BD just graduated from high school, she is going away to college to play sports. She's just never been any problem to me in any way.

Adult SDs...almost like he has "mistresses"
For all of you who deal with the adult SD issue (or maybe even a younger SD), do you ever feel like you are part of a "secret harem"? Like there is another world out there that is all your H's but you are not part of it?

Is it possible to EVER get over the chaos?
I haven't blogged on here in quite a while, but as I read other
blogs, I totally understand where many of you are!
Thanksgiving plans: this year (as we've done in the past three) my own 17 year old daughter and I will be vacationing in Florida.
(Anyone near St. Pete, feel free to PM me!!)

Tonight's "dilemma"
OK, ladies and gents, get a load of this one..
My daughter has SATs tomorrow morning; she's in her room chilling and, of course, texting her friends. Minding her own business..
Well, H's daughter (29) was supposed to come pick up her computer that "daddy" fixed around 7:00. History has dictated that when this "girl" says 7:00, she usually shows up hours later, wasted and carrying on...
SO, I set a boundary. I told H, if she is NOT coming by 7:00, you will call her and tell her that she will pick up the computer TOMORROW...

OT-Parenting and "the look"...
Hi, all...
I just want to add another perspective on BBBarbie's view of entitlement and parenting due to her experience with the lack of a father figure. I agree with everything you have to say, BBB.

Kat needs a new Kareer!!
OK, guys, we help each other with everything. You have given me some awesome advice, and I am really hurting this time.
A former student of mine has given me the opportunity of a lifetime. I get to travel with this amazing circus for 1/2 year. It's always been a dream of mine, it's a high-profile outfit (I'd get to go to Vegas....hey Ema!!!), etc.

OT-Crape Myrtles
Hola! Ferretmom has me (and many of us!!) in "garden" mode now, and I have a question about crape myrtles (obviously...)
I live in PA, and they are not NATIVE here, but they CAN grow here. I purchased two very hearty ones, Dynamites (bright reds).
All winter I kept them inside, they BLOOMED a bit early in February, but now seem to be reblooming.

"He's Just Not that into You" (OT...sort of!!)
Hola, amigas..
My own BD had her first dose of "heartache" (she's 16) of late when she began dating a very nice young man from her school. He chased her and chased her, took her out..unfortunately, he had just broken up with his "girlfriend" of two years, so that young lady didn't take things so well.
So, he decided to cool things off. Not a bad idea, I could only imagine how the mom of THAT young lady felt knowing that her daughter's boyfriend could just dump her before the prom, etc. for "another girl."

Back to reality
Well, we spent four awesome days in Cancun, no phone calls, just lots of sun and couple time. Much needed.
However, we weren't even off the PLANE when the "guilty daddy" returned, and I really don't know if I'm overreacting here or if this is just WEIRD.

Depressed; need to vent!
I am so sick of the "wall" between DH and me. I swear, the man just CAN'T let himself be happy. We have been at an impasse for weeks, and I am really at a loss here.
First of all, we don't have any Zippy's or anything running around here that need our 24/7 attention like some of you poor gals/guys do. His kids are grown and, luckily, have been wonderful of late. My own daughter is 16, but she is so involved in school, sports, etc., it's not like she's the Zipster who needs our constant guidance.
