FAMILY support group

KittyKat's picture

I honestly feel this site deals with EVERYTHING regarding family issues. Sure, it's MAIN focus is on step-parenting and exes, perhaps, we have all given each other great advice and swapped stories about our OWN BIOKIDS and the issues we have with them sometimes.

We have discussed siblings, spouses, parents, PETS, for God's sakes. Many people have noticed a serenity in my person since last summer when I joined ST. I just tell them that I joined a "family support group".

To all NEWCOMERS...

Had I known for a megasecond just five years ago that THIS SITE
existed, I NEVER would have married my H.

I would have run like HELL!!

Like many of us state on this site, it is difficult to discuss
the "issues" with which we deal with family, friends. Many of
them have no experience with this....they want us to be HAPPY
and wish us well...and they hope all things work out. Others
are SICK of listening to the same thing over and over again,
but, again, having no experience, they have no advice to give us.

End of January retreat?

KittyKat's picture

BD and I decided, the weather is not HUMANE for "man" (eeew) nor beast at the
end of January. (We live in northeast PA)

We WILL be here....this is paradise; palm trees; heated swimming pool; LIVE bands;WAVE RUNNING with the dolphins (not gonna lie, there MAY be some SHARKS
out there; but if they're screwing you out of $$$, DOES IT MATTER?

Save your $$ End of January. St. Pete Beach...prepared to get FRIED!!

The KAT is fried; greetings from FLA

Beautiful sun; beautiful weather. I have a new obsession; WAVE RUNNER. Anyone
wants to join us (BD and me); you're more than welcome.

And, HERE'S A good one I MUST share with all of you; as I was listening to a
band, sipping a R & C; I met this couple from Ontario...H raised his glass and
said "NO KIDS FOR 8 days"....my GOD!! "Is that normal?" Snicker...of COURSE it
is!! THAT IS WHAT REAL COUPLES DO! They HAVE A LIFE!!!

Ladies, STAND YOUR GROUND

I'm exhausted, worked two jobs tonight, but OH BOY, do I need
to SHARE!!

Just last week, H was calling me a "dictator"...I won't let him DO what he wants to DO...boo hoo!

Here's what he wanted to do: a) have a wicked "card game" with his guy friends (WTF? never mentioned this one before); b) accompany his D (29 yrs old) to her FAVORITE college basketball
team's sporting event.

Why are WE doing all the WORK?

KittyKat's picture

Hi, all..

Just as I read all the blogs and responses, isn't it
ironic (and probably codependent in a major way?) that WE are doing all the stressing, all the worrying, all the trying to disengage/make changes,
etc.

Are our significant others losing any sleep over this? Are the sources of our misery (BMs, SD/SSs, etc.) feeling any remorse for hurting us and making
us feel like we are in the "way" or overstepping our
bounds just by BEING???

I think "daddy" is bipolar!

KittyKat's picture

I appreciate any input here; he's rambling ON AND ON about how
he can never make plans or I'm jealous (I'm purposely rambling
here) and how he can never do anything but I can do whatever I want (??? I work, come home, take care of the pets, teach college, make money)

He was calm as a cucumber all weekend; then tonight he goes
ballistic; is that bipolar?

God, I love this site. Geez, I'm the one who's supposed to be
PMS. He's acting like HE'S PMS!!
