9 days

I'm done. Christmas is over. No, I don't want to watch a movie together no I don't want to go to SD12s friends house tomorrow for another party. No more.

I did find more RUM BALLS I forgot about in the fridge. And there is another bottle of wine...DP knows I am overloading and he's being great so there's that too.

One more day.

Moods

Cover1W's picture

DP is in terrible mood because his commute was really really bad. I'm going to tell him to stay in a hotel if he's so put out. Hell, he knows this happens. And half of the problem is that his car doesn't run right because he's never fixed it. Not my issue.

Full on Disengagment...ack

Ok, so I am declaring here, full disengagement from SD11 (she'll be 12 next week...oi!) and DP (him for cleaning issues). I will not help. I had enough with the room cleaning scenario and other little stuff and DP's constantly complaining about how he has it so rough and he's so tired (esp. when SDs are with us). I've been super, super good this week. I haven't brought up SDs, except for SD9s TF issue which we were both on the same page with (but has DP discussed it with SD9 as he was going to last night? - a resounding NO would be the correct answer of course!)

SDs and Friends

Kind of an odd situation here.

Klepto:

DP and I realized some of our office tools (stapler, pencil sharpener, tape, things like that) were missing. I searched SDs rooms and found nothing.

Then I remembered that SD9 and her Troublesome Friend (TF) were playing "Post Office" and that TF has this habit of taking things home that are not hers.

Fun Times

Interesting morning.

SD9 made her own eggs and bacon sandwich with only a little supervision from me. DP started to object but had to use bathroom so I took over, fuck that. She did great and was super proud of herself.

SD11 OFFERED to do a load of laundry rather than load the dishwasher. DP started to object but fuck that! I accepted her offer and she did a whole load, washed, dried, folded and put away.

DP and HIS Disengagement

So DP was gone all day on Saturday, which left me doing all the errands and some chores and with the SDs all day. This was not planned - I expected him to be gone in the morning but return early afternoon. He didn't get back until dinner. He's been stressed the last week with work so he decided to go on a long bicycle ride (which he does from time to time but he needs to TELL me if he's going on a long one and usually it's when the SDs aren't with us).

Asking but Not Asking

Cover1W's picture

DP has been asking me more frequently to pick up SD9 after school. This is fine with me so long as it's not a regular thing and not last minute, it's a hassle after work AND I miss my exercise (see he can do his in the morning and I must wait till the afternoon). He has also never signed her up for the after school program, which she hates but would help with his schedule, because she doesn't like going there. So here's what usually happens...
