Sheba update

WalkOnBy's picture

I got home from work last night and Sheba just wasn't her usual self. AND, she peed on the carpet on the stairs....for the last couple of weeks, she has been peeing outside her litter box as well as using her litter box, and so I have been concerned.

And in other news from the mitten...

I totally agree with the GAL's position - if the law requires the state to seek parental termination, then why on EARTH would the kids allowed to remain with their parents?

For those of you who may not be familiar with this case, it's icky, so beware.

Thing2's graduation and other tales from the weekend

WalkOnBy's picture

Well, I didn't see Asshat or Money-Ka the whole weekend, so WIN WIN!! Thing2's ceremony was great, he was recognized for winning an award for his research paper and the weather was great!!!

My mother was her usual bitchy passive aggressive self and just about made me lose it. Here is but one example-

Thing1's graduation...

last weekend went off without too many hitches.

I know that Echo posted on my last blog about how Asshat and Money-Ka ended up right next to us at the first event, but for those who didn't see it, here goes.

We get into town, park the car and head over to the venue for the business school commencement. Decent weather day. The venue is big, think basketball arena size, like 25K seats and tickets were not required, nor were seats assigned. We find some seats and I keep two open for my daughter and son-in-law.

Can't believe I didn't realize this - OR - waaaay too close to Asshat and Money-Ka for my comfort

So, what I am referring to as "Graduation-Palooza" begins tomorrow with the first graduation ceremony for Thing1. It's in the basketball facility at his school, open seating, no tickets required. No problem.

Tomorrow is Medusa's birthday

this morning, as DH and I were getting ready for work, it hit me that 18 years ago today was Columbine. Some of you here know my very personal connection to that event and the impact it had on my life.

Typically on this day, I would send a text to my kids and remind them to touch base with their grandmother, but she died in the fall and this is the first Columbine anniversary since her death. I remarked to DH that it was going to be weird for me now that she is gone.

Oh, DH...

So, this is the year the Things graduate from college. On consecutive weekends, of course. One at the end of April, and one the first weekend in May.

Thing1 is up first. His business school has a ceremony on Friday afternoon and then the gigantic entire University commencement ceremony is Saturday morning. Business school ceremony has a 4 ticket limit. they will go to me, DH, Asshat and Money-Ka. Of course, my mom is bitching about being excluded...

Big ceremony has a 10 ticket limit.

Well, you can learn a LOT when you stalk a FB page

so, just a few minutes ago, I did my monthly glance at Medusa's FB page. It's locked down and she actually never uses it, BUT she has one public post - an old picture of the skids. I have always referred to it as the Beacon, if the skids every searched for her, they would know it's her because they would see the picture.

I noticed a couple of new things - first, her friends list was now down to 11 from 16. When I looked, I noticed that her aunts and cousins are no longer on her friends list. Odd...

Grandbaby update O/T

So, DD25 had a growth scan on Wednesday...babygirl is still in the 3rd percentile, but she is now 17 ounces Smile

that extra ounce means a lot - it's a viable birth weight. Sounds crazy to me, but it is!

DD25 is 24 weeks today. If babygirl showed up today, she would have a 60% survivability rate and a 40% chance of long term neurological issues.
