ss repels me and now he's home sick

I barely tolerate my ss16 as it is, but when he is home sick WHILE I AM HOME SICK, it nearly drives me to insanity. I am not sure of there are any of you smoms with a teenager that simply repels you almost similar to two negative magnets. If he walks into the room I feel my skin actually crawl, and I am ALWAYS aware of where he is at when he is home. So today he is sick and while I am sitting on the couch catching the news with my first cup of coffee, he comes clomping down the stairs with his big blanket, pillow and stuffed animal in tow.

I just wanted my home alone day, now I feel like the bad guy

Today I have a rare week day completely off work. It's been about 8 months since I get this wonderful priviledge and it's been months since our home has been kid free when I have had a day off. I told Dh yesterday that today I want to sleep in and asked if he'd wake my son for school. He agreed. Well at 6 am he starts yelling at me that it's 6 and to get up to get the kids up. I told him I would and then he remembered it was my day off so he apologised and said go back to sleep I'll wake the boys.

Two and a half more years...

So today is ss's 16th birthday. I am counting the days till he graduates and goes into the Military! Two years and 5 months! Smile I bought him an icecream cake today and a small gift. DH took him to the gun range and then they're coming home to make pizza and we'll celebrate!

I'm not sure how I feel right now, mostly shock and some relief. Shock is described in a sorta numb, this is not happening to us feeling, and the relief is described in that I am relieved that DH is now getting the help he needs. We talked to the doc this morning and DH has Hodgkins Lymphoma. It's not very advanced and we'll be able to treat with chemo. So next week we start treatments.

It's a mad mad mad mad world. :sick:

DH's surgery behind us

Made it through DH's surgery yesterday. He had a neck/shoulder lymph node mass removed. It's going to get biopsied and then we'll proceed from there.

As soon as we got home yesterday I started having chest pain and by evening was having body aches and a nasty painful cough. I have today and possibly tomorrow off work.

DH is resting and doing fine on his heavy pain meds. I'm tempted to take one Sad

BS gives me food for thought

Today is my dh's surgery for his lumps in his neck/shoulder. The doc is going to take the worst out first and might have to do two surgeries. DH was so scared last night he could not sleep. He worked himself into a feverish panic and it was actually hard for me to watch him and I felt helpless. The doc did a partial biopsy three weeks ago and pretty sure it's lymphoma, just not sure which kind yet, we'll know more in a day or two after a full biopsy.

I am shaking and devastated

I was online paying my verizon bill and decided to really closely go over the usage with a fine tooth comb b/c the bill is well over $200 a month. So I am checking each number out and get to DH's and figured out a way to check the numbers of every text/call made to and from the phone. I saw that my DH is calling/texting his ex gf several times a day and even sending pix messages. I couldn't see the pix but he sends about 5 a week. I then checked ss15's number thinking that maybe he is also texting her since they were such a close little family before I entered the picture.

Dh spent time with ss15 last evening while I was at work. This is good, I want him to spend time with his own kid, however, now ss15 is wanting dh to go to church with him. Ss15 initially started going to this church b/c his 19 yr old gf's family was going there. Since the big blow up (apparently) they are broke up but ss15 still goes to this church. Anyhow ss15 wants his dad to get back into religion since now he has cancer.

Well all of that is fine except for a few reasons:

I had the day off work today. My bs17 and I made a pot of chili this morning, cinn rolls (dh's fav), did dishes, cleaned the entire house (yes even the filth ss19 left behind when he moved out - you will not believe the crap we found including two empty wine bottles from my stash), set up the tree and hung lights, went gift shopping and wrapped them all. Bs17 was such a big help but mostly it was wonderful to spend time alone with him. We laughed and talked about eveything and even sang a childhood song and just had a good time. It was a very emotionally and mentally healing day!!
