SS14 had an assessment a few months ago for ADHD.BM did not attend. Last week he had the follow up appointment and SS has been diagnosed with mild ADHD,again BM did not attend. On the plus side changing schools has done SS a world of good & he is doing much better in school. I fail to grasp how a parent would not attend their child's medical appointment, especially when the Dr is keen to put SS on medication. There is another appointment scheduled next month, am betting she won't attend that either.

Following on from my previous post last month DH took SS14 to the GP to get a referral to get assessed.Jump forward some weeks later and both BM & DH are up in arms because the referral letter doesn't sound to their liking. Rather than painting SS as a poor victim of misdiagnosed ADHD which they were hoping for so they could stall him being asked to leave his current school the letter asks for an assessment and reading between the lines says SS doesn't listen to anyone and misbehaves most of the time.

Today SS14 had his return to school meeting due to the incident which took place last week and him being banned from school on Friday. DH attended BM did not bother turning up.

According to DH the headteacher informed him that SS is on the red list and if there is another incident he will be expelled from this school. The headteacher also told DH that SS doesn't listen,never does what he is told and is generally disruptive in most classes.

This Sunday just gone was Mother's Day in the UK.I am so glad it's all over,was absolutely dreading it! I have found Mother's Day difficult ever since losing my mum 5 years ago but this one was a double whammy as last year this time I was pregnant with our twins and was a mum to be. This year I felt like I was nothing and couldn't help thinking of what could have been. The only consolation was that I had my furkids with me. Nothing like a day dedicated to reminding me of what I'll never be and what I'll never have.
