DW goes all "Norma Bates" on SS

Yeah, if my life was a movie, the dude at the rental store would have a hard time trying to classify it. Is it a comedy? Or is it a horror? Because it shares the attributes of both.

Last weekend was one of those rare weekends where SS was with us. SS asked if he could have some friends over. DW said he could but only if he helps us clean the house.

SS and the i-Pacifier

It’s both funny and sad at the same time, to see SS be without his precious iPad for a full 24 hours. I swear, he was like a tall version of Gollum. Part of you wants to pity the poor creature and another part of you is repulsed by him.

As I mentioned in my previous blog, I confiscated SS’s iPad and took it to work with me. SS is usually the last to leave the house so he has approx 20 minutes to himself. In that time, he texted DW three times.

SS: Mom, wheres my ipad?
SS: Mom u there?
SS: I cant find my ipad!

How to give your guy a proper BJ

You know…In a way, I am kind of glad that SS’s antics are becoming more and more serious (and stupid), because the more asinine things this kid does, the harder it is for DW to keep her head in the sand.

When we gave SS his iPad for Christmas last year, we were VERY clear as to when he can use it and what he can use it for.

The MOST important of these rules are:
1) Do not bring the iPad to school.
2) No smut.

After the incident of last week, I told SS that I would be periodically checking his iPad.

Next time, I'm getting drunk!

I was so not impressed with DW last Sunday. I can forgive her, because I love her, but I wasn't impressed....

For starters we went to a family gathering on her side of the family. I wasn’t particularly keen on going, especially since SIL and her free-range animals were going to be there (remember Eve(il)?). On top of that, I warned DW that we would have to leave the place early because we have to pick up SS.

Watching the car crash. How do you do it?

This is a bit of a follow up from tog's blog. I am not trying to start an argument or anything, I am just genuinely curious (and worried) about how some of you can sit back and watch your steps fail their classes, put in the minimum amount of effort, etc.

How can you do it?

I know, I know "If my SO isn't going to push this kid, why should I?"

Aren't you worried that you will be stuck supporting a high-school dropout way into adulthood? Or do you have an exit plan?

DW breaks down.

So SS asks DW if he can hang out with his buddy TNMD after school (TNMD = They’re Not My Drugs).

DW was hesitant at first because she is now wondering if TNMD is someone SS should be hanging out with in the first place. I told her that she should have said no, but DW allowed it because he had to be back for 5:00pm anyways to have supper and go to the child psychologist appointment.
