Drac0's Blog
My life summed up in 5 minute conversations (or less).
Inspired by Heckfire. These are actual conversations I've had with my family in the last 24 hours....
DW: "Friday we'll prime, Saturday we'll move the furniture and buy the paint, and Sunday we can paint the room and make the new bed..."
Me: "You're being ambitious again."
DW: "Why do you have to be so pessimistic? With you, the glass is always half empty..."
Me: "No no! If you are going to use an analogy, use a proper one! You are hoping to fill a sippy cup by holding it underneath Niagra Falls!"

Guess what I found in SS's school bag
Stupidity and laziness are not a good combination and SS has both in spades.
He was outside with DW and the kids having a water balloon fight. DW was watchin them while I was inside trying to knock more things off the list.

"Boy! Someone got up on the wrong side of bed this morning!" O/T
That's what DW said to me when she joyfully asked me what plans we have for tonight.
Another blow to the head (When will this idiot learn?)
You would think that after last week's incident of SS's face having a close encounter with a baseball bat, he would be more careful. Apparently not.
At this rate, I should just quit my job and follow SS around with a camcorder and submit the recordings to AFV. I am sure to win the $10k grand prize eventually.
SS has got a shiner (No, not from me)
So I am on my way home when my cell rings.
Me: "Hello?"
DW: "Draco! House! Fire! SS! Baseball bat! Face! Hospital?"
I actually pulled over to the side of the road so I can talk properly. DW was obviously very agitated and talking a mile a minute. I told her to please calm down and to talk slowly.

Actual Texts between DW and SS (hard to believe)
I don’t usually go snooping into DW’s phone but I found these gems.
SS: “Can u get me a glass of water please?”
DW :”You have a sore throat. Your legs are not broken. Get your own water.”
SS: “I can’t find my deodorant”
SS: “Do U know where it is?”
DW: “No.”
SS: “But I need it.”
DW: “What do you want me to do!? I’m at work!”
SS: “Well what do I do?”
DW: “Throw baking soda under your arms.”
SS: Nver mind. Found it.”

SS makes Pancakes
This is right up there with Nutella, buttering toast, Icky Cram and “Sun rises in the South”.
Yes dear readers, hang on to your shorts and shelve the higher processing functions of your brain. You won’t need ‘em.
SS was with us this weekend because it was Mother’s Day. Did SS buy his mother anything? Nope. Did SS make anything for his Mom? Nope.
SS decides he wants to make pancakes for breakfast.
“I want to make you pancakes tomorrow.” SS says to DW Saturday night.

I WAS in a good mood. Thank you SS and DW for ruining it for me.
I was in such a good mood when I left work yesterday. I still don’t understand how I could go from a high and sink to an all-time low.
My evening started when one of the managers here pulled me aside. “Drac0! I just heard from the client. They reviewed the manual you sent out. He said he can’t approve it (engineering has final say) but he really loves it and is strongly recommending that their engineering department approves it.”
Anchor Mom "The Entitlement Generation"
Thought I would share this:
http://addins.kwwl.com/blogs/anchormom/2015/04/the-entitlement-generation
I agree with it 100%. I immediately made DW read it because she is constantly critical about how my Dad treated us when we were little. I have an engineering degree and my brother has an MBA, so clearly my folks did some things right....and yes, I am still close with parents. VERY close.

Project? What project?
Dear Drac0,
I am writing to inform you that SS's reading log was due last Friday. He did not hand it in. I reminded him on Monday that it was due and that this project was very important for this semester's grade. I gave him until Tuesday to hand it in. It is now Thursday and he still has not handed it in. I've attached all the pertinent information concerning this project in this email. If you could please talk to SS and emphasize the importance of this project, I would greatly appreciate it.
Sincerely
SS's English Teacher
