Adults and Trick or Treating

DH had a phone call to catch up with Bratty McBratFace SD25.  I heard part of their conversation (not eavesdropping - he walked into the kitchen to get water where I was there prepping food).  He asked if Bratty was planning to go trick or treating.  Um, wtf.

I know adults celebrate Halloween and will go to parties, get a costume, etc.  But straight up door to door trick or treating for candy?  I would be stunned if an adult showed up at my door for candy  (alone, not escorting a kid).

So I guess Mermaiding didn't last long, because I overheard Bratty in the week after our reception saying she was volunteering at a community farm.

Volunteering meaning no income.  I really think she's conned Nutter into supporting her while she 'takes a break from med school prep'.  Well, whatever.  Happy farming, Bratty.

Hi everyone!

Well SO is now officially and legally DH.

We had a lovely sunset ceremony on our Galapagos cruise, returned home for 2 days before flying off to the midwest for our reception.  It was so much fun!  We had about 50 people, half DH's family and half my family and some friends.  The food was amazing and everything went off without a hitch.  I wore a beautiful maroon and gold sari and DH looked so handsome in a cream colored tux.

Yes, you read the title correctly.  But before I get into the mermaid thing, let's review Bratty's illustrious career choices post-college:

- Post-bacc 1.0 for pre-med requisites to become a doctor.  She flunked and blamed the professors for not respecting her pronouns.

- Americorps program in NorCal working at a clinic giving health education.  She quit after 4 months because the program did not change their bathrooms to gender neutral at her request.

SO and I are getting married this summer (eloping) but having a reception in the midwest for family and a few close friends.  Bratty is invited and RSVP'd yes for herself and her plus one, Nutter GF.  We were going to stay a few days after the reunion in AirBnB's after for a short family reunion for SO's clan (my family is heading out after the reception is over).

For about a year, Bratty McBratFace (SD24) has been relatively calm (still drama but mostly not affecting me) and busy with post bacc 2.0 and with Nutter GF.

SO's family has an email chain where they send updates addresses/contact information if someone moves, etc.  

Bratty has a history of sending obnoxious emails, and in 2019 kinda hijacked this email thread to send a self-righteous email to SO's whole family about pronouns, including resources for us simple minded older people to practice our gender neutral language.

Bratty wants therapy

SO mentioned at dinner last night that Bratty texted asking him to confirm that she was off of his insurance.  Apparently she is freeloading health insurance as Nutter GF's domestic partner, and tried to schedule therapy through Nutter's mental health coverage.  It is through the same provider that SO's insurance uses and they told her she couldn't use Nutter's plan until she was off SO's coverage.  He is going to call today to straighten things out but lamented that Bratty doesn't communicate what is going on in their life.
