Oh REALLY - OT

So my 3yo BS has been trying to workout the differences between boys and girls. I often get a girls can't do that, or like blue or any manner of things he thinks falls within normal boy behavior. While SO is normally just excited that his boy is learning his masculinity, I tend to correct said behavior. More on the lines of girls can do any and everything boys can do except for pee standing up.

We today I get a text from SO. Apparently, SO was trying to teach DS to wash his own dishes (he has his own set of plastic eatery). And BS has been arguing SO down that washing dishes is for girls and to leave everything and mommy can wash it when she come home. :jawdrop:

UT OH!!! OOhhh doggy this boy must truly be confused and I'm going to have to take some corrective action a lot earlier than I expected. Starting with keeping up with BS now washing his own dishes. Prior to this his only responsibility has been picking up his own toys.

I'd be more concerned with where he is getting those ideas. At that age it's unlikely he's picking it up at school or TV.

If I didn't know where he was all the time I'd be concerned but his days are typically split between me and preschool. He only with SO alone on Fridays, and this is definitely not SO logic. I think that since up until rather recently his days were spent predominately around male cousins that now that he's around girls he just trying to establish a difference. That combined with an amazing self assured attitude (he has self confidence in spades/you can't tell him nothing) does not lend well to asking questions. I get a lot of declarative statements from this one, that I spend a lot of time correcting.

Ruh roh!

One time my autistic ss then about 11 told the room CGU should "just clean and do chores."

And that kid loves me!

What a world.... Wink Glad you're taking action.

Apparently SO did not either and made him stand on a chair and wash the plate. All I got in response was a "I will not raise a lazy son!!"
