Am I Being a HCBM

Ursula's picture

I've posted her previously as a SM.  I'm divorced now, my exh and I have a 5 year old together.  When we divorced he said he wanted her half the time, I told him I didn't think that would work and he immediately said he didn't want to pay child support and told me he can't afford it.  I was okay with that, and hoped that he would use this time to get his life more together.  So I have primary custody and he pays no child support.

So BM is Moving

Ursula's picture

My husband found out through SD that they are moving and SD is going to be switching elementary schools.  SD is going into 4th grade for next school year.  My husband is not okay with this.  They have 50/50 physical and shared legal custody.  I assume BM cannot just up and change the school without having a discussion about this first?

Seriously BM?

We have been members of a community pool for 2 years now.  It's a very small pool.  SD just mentioned that BM joined the pool this year too.  WTF? Why would she do that?? She's not even supposed to be able to join the pool because you have to be a homeowner and she is not, but I guess she is using GBMs address.  This is so annoying! I enjoy going to the pool in the summer to relax and now BM will be there.

SD Secret Relationship

Ursula's picture

It was recently brought to my husband's attention that SD has been having a "secret relationship" with another girl at school.  Both of the girls apparently found a way to bypass the security system on their school issued laptops and access microsoft teams.  They have been talking to each other secretly since the beginning of the school year.  This was only discovered after SD was found to be googling "hot anime boys" and "hot anime girls" on her school laptop and her laptop was taken to do a thorough review of what else she was doing (everyone elses in the class was also taken to be looked

Morning Greetings from BM

Ursula's picture

I saw BM two times this morning, both in our cars.  The first time I drove by her while going to drop my DD at preschool.  BM was parked doing drop off for her daughter in middle school.  The second time I was waiting to make a turn out of the preschool parking lot and BM drove by me.  Both times, she gave me the finger.  Wtf? What did I do?

Weird Car Insurance Thing

Ursula's picture

I was just doing a new car insurance quote for myself and H.  It automatically populated cars associated with us (my car and his) but BMs car was also shown on the list?  Why would that be? My H has terrible credit so it's not like he's a co-signer on a loan for her.  It just seems very strange.

Moving Update

Ursula's picture

Thanks to everyone that shared their thoughts on my earlier post.  It was so helpful.  I had a short conversation with H about it and basically told him that I didn't see how it would feasibly work if we moved far from where we are now, that BM would never agree to SD to go to school where we are looking to move, and that he had no chance of getting primary custody of SD based on school ratings.  He said he didn't think he would get primary custody of SD due to the schools (I swear he had said that before, but I'm glad he's being realistic about it) but that he also didn't want to limit our

Moving Question

Ursula's picture

Right now BM and my H have 50/50 custody.  We currently live less than 5 minutes from BM, although when the 50/50 CO was entered we lived 25 minutes from her.  We want to move.  The schools in our area aren't good.  Our plan is to move in the summer of 2023.  We are looking to move 30-40 minutes away from where we are now.  BM is high conflict so we know she likely won't just accept it and not try to change custody.  My husband thinks he will try to have SD go to middle school where we will be living, and obviously BM won't go for that.  Do you all think it would be likely for him to lose 5

Gymnastics Update

Ursula's picture

I got some additional information when I took our DD to gymnastics last night.  They want SD for the group that does competitions.  A space is opening in June, so no one would need to decide for a couple months what happens.  The practices are only for 1.5 hours a week on the weekend for the first year and then competitions start the following year.  Competition fees are about $1,200 for the year, depending on how many competitions they do.  I'm guessing the second year the practices are more often, but H will have to find out about that.  Then there can also be cost for leotards, traveling
