I've noticed a pattern lately. I do a lot of things for SD, and that is fine since her BM is wherever she is doing whatever she does. However, lately whenever FDH has friends over and those friends bring children, guess who ends up watching the kids b/c the guys run to go get beer, to the store, to smoke a cig? I'm sure you all know the answer. Me. I'm sick and tired of being the default babysitter!

So I was commenting on someone else's post and it got me to thinking about something that crossed my mind the other day.

When I was a teen (and to this day) I took/take my birth control pills religiously. I did this b/c I didn't want to be a teen mom and am still not ready for my own children. There are things that I want to accomplish first. Even though I have SD I still get a free pass from FDH to go do my own thing because he realizes SD is primarily his repsonsibility.

SD and Vegetables

Well folks, SD8 finally admitted last night that she DOES make herself throw up on purpose to avoid eating vegetables. So guess what SD now has to eat every single meal? VEGETABLES! FDH told her that if she makes herself vomit one more time then she will have to eat it....and not just another helping of veggies, but the puke itself. LOL. He wouldn't actually do that, but I think it scared her enough so that she won't. SD said, "Well I won't be throwing up since you told me that!"
And then she decided that she actually did like the mashed potatoes and black-eyed peas. Geeze.

A big FU to BM. HA!

The official notarized custody letter from court arrived in the mail the other day (I'll skip to the best part):

IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED, ADJUDGED and DECREED by the Court that FDH is awarded the legal and physical care, custody and control of the parties' minor child, namely SD8.

The visitation rights of the Defendant (BM) are suspended, pending further orders of this court.

Does anyone else...

feel nervous when left alone with the skids? I only have SD8 and she's lived with us full time for the past 7.5 months, and yet everytime FDH goes to work and I'm left alone with her I get this nervous feeling that just won't go away. I watch her by myself 4 nights/week. I think I get this feeling b/c she's not my biological child and I sometimes feel unsure of the proper course of action even though FDH has told me repeatedly that he trusts my judgment and I'm free to punish her if she needs it. SD is usually good...just bouncing off the walls energetic.

Just got done with court. BM was a no-show. Apparently BM left a voicemail on the Judge's phone this morning stating that BM did not get the certified letter listing the court date until this past Friday and could BM please get a continuance? Well, last Friday was the 9th and seeing as how the letter was CERTIFIED the Judge had proof that BM received the letter on 12/1/11. Thus proving that BM lied. Also, we had BM's sister and in-laws with us willing to testify on SO's behalf. The Judge denied a motin to continue and SO was granted custody by default.

12 year old girl and her brother shot by BM at the social services office. BM was angry that she was denied food stamps even though she didn't turn in enough information. Also felt she was owed restitution. The girl died and her brother is in critical condition. At least BM offed herself as well.

Welp, just realized that I will have SD 5 out of 7 nights this week. SO makes better money on nights and weekends, so I understand the reason behind it but it still pisses me off. I was just sitting in my office at work thinking about how nice it would be to have SO home with me tonight when he calls to tell me that he picked up a shift tonight. So it's just me AGAIN.
