New Year's Eve Advice - HELP!

Well BM came back to the state about a week ago. She has the 2 boys (5, 6) for the second half of the holidays. Because of her inability to get along with and control the 6 yr old, all of her visits this year have been shortened for him. Typically on a weekend visit he will go to her house midday on a Saturday and return 24 hours later. She is able to tolerate the younger one because he thinks she's the greatest and poops 24k gold! Well, the divorce is FINALLY done - hip hip hooray! Our plan was to drop off the SS5 today on the way to FH's work and then Wednesday for SS6.

Celebrate!!!

BM flew out today!!! We live in Texas and she left fir Minnesota with no return date planned!!! So good for us, but SS4 turns 5 next week. She hasn't ever said anything about being around to see him. We are thinking she will come back for her Xmas visit on the 26th. Also, divorce is about to be finalized. Why would anyone leave the state with that going on?! I told FH he should make some changes before she comes back lol!!! Is that mean?! Hahaha

BM damaging our car

So... The divorce is currently on hold because DH is in the process of filing for bankruptcy...another story. During the last drop-off BM got so angry with DH that she punched the hood of his car. The car is only 5 months old, and I don't know if she knows the car is both of ours. She didn't do much damage bur she realized what she did and asked if there was damage and if he was going to file another RO. After speaking to his attorney, she said not to do anything at this time mostly because no civil action can be brought up during his bankruptcy.

SS4 slapping and being so angry

Not since his last visit with his mom did SS4 ever disrespect me. We allowed her to have him starting Friday morning until Sunday afternoon. Normally she only gets them for 24 hours start Saturday at noon. One thing we did learn is that she told him he doesn't have to listen to me. But he is sure learning quickly that the time out chair is not a fun place to be when he decides to do what is BM says he can do. Yes, we have had numerous talks about following rules in our home and that the rules are different in each home.

Advice for a new SM

I have two SS's (4 and 5). BM attempted suicide in January which the oldest son found her. She has since attempted three other times. Somehow, her rights have not been taken away. We have been told that something bad has to happen before her rights are taken away. In a state that is "maternal" it seems hard to understand why the courts do what they do. We are fortunate to receive CS directly from her SSI payments. Now we are able to count on that income each month. While it's only enough to cover our grocery expenses each month, we are blessed to have it.
