How to handle if Stepdevil appears this weekend...

Hey guys!

I just had a fleeting thought and figured I'd ask your opinion.

Saturday is DH's niece's birthday party to be held at DH's grandparent's home. In the past, stepdevil has always been at these parties and I know she still has a relationship with BIL & SIL as they've actually even had her spend the night and text her all the time.

Sunday is Easter brunch at DH's dad's place (he lives right next door to grandparents). Recently, stepdevil has been texting granddad to brag about her grades and fish for rewards...when she hasn't spoken to him in months.

Smart or Stupid move by BM? Need more eyes/opinions on this

Ok, so BM is taking DH to court (they have mediation in 2 weeks) for increased CS and 100% custody of Stepdevil14.

DH is fighting the 100% because he doesn't want to lose custody of his kid, she's being PAS'd and he hopes one day she'll "come around" again. Besides, losing 100%, means full CS and medical to BM.

After talking with a MI attorney, I've drafted a proposal to exH

Since the attorney recommended waiting until after spring break is over and DD15 is back in MI so exH cannot interfere with her trip, I plan to send him this email and follow it up with a phone call to be sure he received it and ask his thoughts. What do you all think? Fair?

Dear Ex:

I propose the new parenting agreement to be as follows:

• DD will reside in Colorado with me full time and attend high school here until graduation in 2016. I will not move out of state or make her change schools for the duration of her remaining school years.

Talked with DD15 again last night. She and her father had another explosive fight (they tend to do this at least once a week) and she told him she definitely wants to move to Colorado to be with me. He'd originally told her she had 30 days to decide but he had the "final say".

Happy Monday everyone! Yeah, blech, I know. I hate it too.

Had an awesome weekend. Met DH at home after work Friday, packed an overnight bag and jumped in the truck for an adventure. Got to Manitou Springs (LOVE it there) just as the sun set. Drove through the town to our hotel (www.cliffhouse.com) and it was gorgeous! Beautiful old stately place, built in the 1800's! So pretty.

WOOHOOOO DH has another surprise planned for me!

He just texted me and said "If I can pull this surprise off, I'm SO getting laid tonight" and I laughed and texted him back and said, "As if you don't get laid EVERY night!"

He said we'll meet at home, pack an overnight bag and off we go! WOOOHOOOO!

For those of you that are my friends on Facebook, watch for updates, cuz I'll be posting them! Everyone else, I'll post an update on Monday.

DH is gathering info for his mediation/court battle against BM with regards to her getting 100% parenting time and CS for stepdevil14.

Among other things, we've paid 100% of her therapy bills. I say we because this money came out of our joint funds and it was my suggestion that she go to therapy to help her cope with their divorce and our subsequent engagement.

Hey all,

I knew this day would come, especially when the ex is constantly grounding her and pushing her away. He's neglectful, doesn't care if she sits in her room 24/7 as long as her chores are done and consistently makes promises to her he never keeps. He has let her down so much over the past couple of years she's lived with him and she's just about done.

So Friday after work, we had a nice dinner then went to see Safe Haven (I had just read the book so I was dying to see the movie). Great movie, great night.

Saturday, slept in a bit, then DH got me up for my surprise. Went to lunch and then out to the Butterfly Pavilion! Something I've always wanted to see. Got lots of great photos and enjoyed the warm, tropical atmosphere they were in. Had a nice dinner and went home to watch movies.
