The Movie "Cyrus"

Pantera's picture

I watched the movie CYRUS last night and thought of Steptalk. It's supposed to be funny and at times it can be...I thought it was hilarious just because the stuff that happened in the movie happens in real life, everyone else thought it was dumb (and they never had stepkids). It has Jonah Hill in it. Its about a 22 year old guy that lives with his Mom and the Mom starts dating and the 22 year does a bunch of stuff to push the guy away.

Hey Ladies!!!

I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday. I just wanted to update.

I am divorced. Its official. Yay!!! Now we just have to get my name off of the house. Which should happen in about 2 weeks. I am very happy. I lost some weight, and am back in shape. I have been dating someone for about 4 months, 3 years younger and NO KIDS!!! Everything is going really well. Leaving my ex was the best decision I could have ever made.

I hope everyone has a wonderful New Year!!!

Separation Agreement

My separation agreement has been sent out. I am a little nervous. DH called this past Saturday to see how I was doing. I told him I was good, there was akward silence and then I got off the phone. He called 2 more times and left a message saying he just wanted to hear my voice and misses me. I didn't call back. Monday he went balistic. Called me at 3pm, then called non stop from 6pm-8:30pm (back to back). Leaving messages asking me to call him back, crying saying he misses me. I answered a couple of times around 7:30.

I Love My Life

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE my life. Last week I realized that I didn't love DH. I was trying to work on the marriage because I felt guilty for getting a divorce. I married him for the idea of him (getting married, having kids, ect.). I am so glad I was smart enough to leave my situation. My life is stress free and great. Im having so much fun. I joined a softball team, have been hanging out with friends, just doing what I want and enjoying life.

Stepmonster

I know this book has been recommended over and over again. EVERYONE that is going to be in a blended family that will have a Stepmother, should read it. I think Dad's should read this book before they start dating and I think women that are going to date a man with kids needs to read it before they get involved. I truly believe that if DH and I would have read this book a year ago, we may be ok now. It is a great book and will validate your feelings and also make you look at things a different way.

My Last Evening at Home

Pantera's picture

It goes a little something like this...SS and DH get home. DH is on the phone apologizing to someone and goes outside. He comes in the house and I ask whats wrong. SS and a couple of other kids made fun of one of SS's really good "friends". This friend has spent the night at our house, and is a good kid. This friend's Mom refuses to take SS anymore because SS doesn't behave and is mean to her son (but they are friends?). So today they called this kid fat, told him that he was jiggly, were making fun of his "boobs", ect. This is such a sweet kid, I was sick to my stomach.

2 Days Left

I know all the signs are there and I know in my head I am doing the right thing, my heart just isn't with my head yet. I am starting to panic and second guess myself. DH doesn't want to work things out if I move. I understand, but he also says he understands why I need to leave. I am so scared that I am going to leave and have made the wrong decision because I do love my husband very much. Im scared that he really is going to change and that I am going to miss out on him.

Child Psychiatric Evaluations

Pantera's picture

SS's therapist (in 2009) recommended that SS get a Psychiatric Evaluation. Of course DH never had that done. He says SS doesn't need one. Has anyone had to put thier child/stepchild through one? If so, can you please describe in detail what actually happens? I think if DH knew exactly what would happen during the evaluation, he would be less resistant.
