The Art of Loving
I recommended this book to a poster today but thought maybe everyone should take a gander at it. because of this book, I don't just accept love as word but as an action and everyday I try to develop it and also teach it to DH, and will teach it to my child. Here's the wikipedia description:

OT Sort of... ST Network?
Every time I read about people who are in abusive relationships, who want to get out but have no means to, or fear they won't get back on their feet, who don't have friends or family to rely on, I always feel compelled to check hoping their place of residence is near me, because I have an apartment I can't rent out for money and I don't use, and another apartment that sometimes I only go to take naps in before work (which is in the connected building) but which is unnecessary for me to stay in as I have a permanent residence, and would like to offer it to them until they can get back on the

OT/ DH, I love you but if you do this again, I'm knocking your teeth out
Let me preface this by saying that my DH is wonderful and supportive and caring, and basically everything I could really ask for in a husband, but there's one thing that I find recently that's ticking me the eff off.
So my parents don't really speak english, and if they do it's like a weird mixture of chinese and english that no one but myself and my sister can decipher, which means I switch to chinese when I talk to them on the phone.
Facing Violence: Belief
I was reading a book called Facing Violence (because one of my businesses involves martial arts) which is a great book on common sense self defense--like following your instincts, case studies on how predators use certain human emotions such a guilt, pity, and sympathy to get close to someone and assault them, how manipulation works on the mind, etc. Great read and I recommend it to people all the time.
