Hello everybody,

As I was scrolling through my old email account looking for an unrelated email, I found an email from Steptalk and the memories poured in. Most of them had been deleted from my mind.

Lord, it has been a very long time. I doubt there will be anybody here who will remotely remember me but that's okay, if you go check my last pot, you will see a major contrast between that one and now.

I was in a very bad place, my marriage was horrible not because of stepchildren but (mainly) because of an abusive man.

Last night BM sent DH an email to INFORM him that SD who is only 7, was on a sleepover at her friend's house next door.

I have two problems with this:

1) She didn't consult DH, I think she should have said something to him, I would like to know where my child is spending the night.
2) I know its only next door, but I still don't necessarily agree with this. With how sick this world is and so many child abductions, I want my child to be safe and sound in a place I'm familiar with.

There is always some madness going on. There is always some stupid thing coming out of this stupid BM. I swear...

This year's stupid thing goes like this...

SD7 got accepted into one of the charter schools she had been on wait list for. And the brilliant BM got the awesome idea of split the uniform items her and DH are going to be buy her. She wants us to get her a week's worth of outfits (5) and she will get her a week's worth as well... So she wants SD7 to have 10 Polos AND 10 BOTTOMOS AVAILABLE, not including the stuff she already owns.

I just don't know anymore.

I try to tell myself i should stop (maybe?)

Some days I can tolerate better than others.

Some days things are OKAY.

Some other days, I just want something fresh, hassle-less, a brand new beginning... Don't recognize who is this person leading what once was MY LIFE, it must be someone else, I wasn't like THIS. Or, was I?

And I will never have the "just ours"

I will forever have the "mine and yours" or "mine and ours" at *best*...

Needless to say, today is one of those days that...

Fathers' pet names for their children

I was just wondering what are the pet names used by daddies for their kids. I bet some will be cheesy. My husband used to call SD6 "baby", but that stopped (upon my request) more than a year ago. Now he just calls her by her name and the occasional (once every two weekends) "honey".

I don't know why, but pet names is one of my pet peeves (huh?)... LOL

Here it comes a long-ass vent.

Back in 2008, before DH and I were married, we were planning on going to my country (Dominican Republic) where all my family lives. We wanted to take SD (who was 4) but BM claimed that she had heard a lot of bad stuff about the country and she didn't want her going there. She made other negative remarks about my country (where I lived until I was 18). We ended up NOT going (for other reasons) and we haven't been able to do so. So now we are planning on going this summer.

When are kids held accountable for their Grades?

We got SD6's first grade's first grade report yesterday.
The grading scale is as follows:
1: Does not meet standard
2: Progressing towards standards
3: Meets Standards
4: Exceeds the standards

Out of 10 evaluation statements, SD got two ones and eight twos. The #1s were on "the student plans, writes drafts, revises, edits,and publishes" <-- which is B.S.... she is 6, do they do that in 1st grade?
And the other one was in "the student demonstratesunderstanding of whole number relationships".
