DH seems to have fallen off a turnip truck!

When it comes to his precious son Zippy!

We have SS16 Zippy full time. Said Zippy has recently lost a job his dad got for him for chronic tardiness. DH and I sat down crafted some house rules (that are progressing ok)-however one stipulation was that Zippy needs to get a part time job (that Zip does not want to get as it takes time away from tv and video gaming in other words being a bump on a log taking up space).

Well-I am packing up here at work-heading home-DH is at his evening job until nine.

Zippy 16 has decided his two hours of video games will be from 6pm-8pm-

(DH and I both know that Zippy will have been playing games from time DH left until when I get home -4pm-6pm-but we have decided we cannot control when we aren't there)

What are the bets good old Zippy will "forget" about the new rules and I will go downstairs at 8-15pm to still see Zippy Zapping away?

So DH and I sat down with Zippy16 last night-it was DH birthday and Zippy said NOTHING all day-even after the birthday cake came out-no Happy Birthday dad!!! Not even at bed time....

Zippy sat through the ordeal with much rolling of eyes and nasty comments-

Zippy-rolling his eyes talking exasperated: "Duh Dad-this is the same thing OVER and OVER again"

Me: "Well, Zippy -when you start doing these things -these meetings will stop"

We asked him why he did not go to the job op his Dad told him to go to-he lied point blank to DH face-then had the nerve to say

Working on the lyrics to that one. Any help would be appreciated.

and for Zippy:

Well-the red seas parted the other day and Zippy16 had a friend over-(remember Art Garfunkel?-friend looks like that)-

As suspected SS Zippy16 lost his first job after less than 3 months (chronic tardiness and improper procedure for taking time off)-that's right fired from the job Daddykins got him.

Zippy comes back from Europe tonight (his dad will break the sad news to Zippy) and then gush over everything about the trip. I have the theme to Love Story playing in my head-when they hook up! (thanks Crayon!-HA)-needless to say I am not going to witness the grand reunion-but be at home with a glass of wine so I can at least tolerate the "welcome home" Daddy will insist on giving loser Zippy!

I need to such BF/DH/SO's Gems like

1. Why does SS/SD's filthy room bother you so much-why don't you pick your battles and close the door?

2. Why are a few dishes lying around such a big deal to you?

3. What's it to you if SS/SD won't wash/shower/brush their teeth?

4. (In response to any constructive criticism of their golden child)You just don't like my darling perfect child! Sad

As most of you know-SS-Zippy16 is in Europe this week Smile -we are blissfully having a great time-THEN

DH received an e-mail yesterday from Zippy in which Zip signed off "Love Zippy"-which is unusual for him apparently and made my DH weepy with emotion :sick: -towards his baby boy.

DH is as thick as a brick when it comes to Zippy and I-and I have tried many ways to tell him how I feel-

I hope-for 10 glorious days!!! Zippy16 is off to Europe-This being Friday the 13th I hope his flights are on time etc. and he does not end up schlumping back in the house (my luck!). Sad Please pray for me that Zippy gets off on his trip on time!
