Still at my office
FH is....moody to put it nicely. Last night we were having a perfectly nice evening until BM texted and then like clockwork he started getting nasty - to me. I got up from bed where we were watching tv and went downstairs for the evening. I have been through this routine enough to know that it will only escalate and I am just not going there. This morning he apologized but when he then just HAD to call BM and rehash the issue they were texting about he again turned nasty and picked a fight.

O/T - Trying to keep my head above water
I can't tell you what a comfort the StepTalk community has been to me. I am going through a really difficult time now. I had separated from my husband 4 years ago completely amicably but we put off the divorce because he was in a very bad place financially. We were married for 17 years - more good than bad - but finally called it quits because I needed to have children in my life and he refused to consider adoption. I tried to had natural children but was unable to carry to term and (not to be dramatic) nearly died the third and last time I tried. Last rites and the whole shebang.

O/T Thank you to moderator for quick action
Just wanted to thank the moderator "on duty" for their quick removal of a poster that I can only assume was trolling. It is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Gotta go
Things are really reaching a head and I have to get out - if only for this weekend. FH is overloaded with BM and skid crap and is walking around like a bear with a sore head. He has let situations build and build and done nothing to head them off and the chickens are coming home to roost with a vengeance but he doesn't see it. All he sees is the crisis and wants "understanding." I am fresh out of understanding!

Hiring a child actor - how cool would this be?
Please allow me to indulge my fantasy. I have no bio-kids (unable to carry to term though I damned near died trying!) but I have always wanted to adopt. We are required to accept the random kids "assigned' to us merely by virtue of SO/FH/DH's foray into baby making with crazy women, right?

Anger growing and spinning out of control
I am really at the end of my rope. Nothing I do or say meets with the approval of FH or the skids - it has not for a long time but things have gotten so much worse. Everytime it even appears that I might put one toe over the line FH is there scolding me and saying "you want a good relationship with the skids don't you - I am just trying to help!" And then all of his frustration with what BM does and what the skids do spills over on to me. If he is not actually bitching at me then he is morosely sulking around the house and refusing to talk to me.

Any Pennsylvania/Northern MD members?
I was chatting with another PA member and thinking how nice it would be to have a "meet up" at some point. It seems that most of us are pretty spread out and very few of us are within truly convenient driving distance of each other. However, would anyone be interested in maybe a once every 6 months or so casual lunch or dinner on a Saturday or Sunday at a restaurant that was not exactly "jump in the car" convenient but not so far as to require full-on battlefield planning. Just a semi-day trip to hang with other women (and men!) in similar situations.

INspired by the "damp sweatshirt" on a skid post
People are upset because a skid wore a damp sweatshirt to school in cold weather and a disengaged SM allowed it - either because she could care less or because there was damned little she could do other than tackle the brat and rip it off him if he were determined to wear it. Only she knows why.
Maybe it is the cold medicine talking but a damp sweatshirt is NOTHING. I am now actively trying to figure out a way to get a LIVE BADGER into SS16's clothing. A hungry one!!!!

BM is an ass and FH blows up at me - like freak'n clockwork!!!
BM decides today to play more BS games. Nothing unusual. SD needs shoe NOW NOW NOW and DH need to take them tonight or her feet will fall off. SD completely oblivious about it all. Her only reply basically amounted to "Uhm...what?...yeah my sneakers are getting tight but I don't need them tonight....what?"
So he refuses to blow his one night a week (except for eow) to go to mall. Was sooooo proud of him because not 4 months ago he would have gone running. Thought everything was fine. BUT.....
Sick as a dog thanks to horrible parenting
SD13 brought home a nasty flu this past weekend. Hardly unusual at this time of year. However, it appears that, because she is such a special little snowflake, her parents never bothered to teach her to cover her mouth when she coughs. Seriously - mouth wide open and arms firmly at her sides. Unbelievable!!!!
Granted, she DOES fart rainbows and marshmallows, so I am guessing that apparently her droplets of germ-infested spit and snot ARE gold-plated. However, I DON"T WANT THEM!!!
