FDH is heading to the hospital for surgery next week. It should be a one day stay. We have the power of attorney (me), and living will/will ready, with me as sole beneficiary. I am not sure if the adult brats will show up, but do you think I am prepared enough? I just dont want these horrible people causing us any problems. They would absolutely do what they could to cause me pain, and I have seen cases where kids caused problems for their step-parents, girlfriends, boyfriends, fiancees-not allowing in hospital rooms,etc.

The older son has been emailing suddenly (he doesnt know about surgery)and supposedly apologizing for his past actions. This is probably because Christmas is coming and he still refuses to work. We also suspect he wants to move in, which is NEVER going to happen. So, I think he would show up during the surgery just to look concerned and he would cause a problem, as would the other 2.

Any advice would be appreciated.
