After 1 week of taking care of my stepson who had the flu (while DH was working) and then the next week my DH threw his back out and couldn't do anything for SS8, my frustration was starting to show. I just tried to stay in the busy-body zone and not think about how much of my beloved work i was missing and how many social events i had to cancel. And, then...I wake up this morning and stepson is acting like an angel??? He's hugging me and hanging on me and laughing/smiling, telling me how much he appreciates me.

Is this step-parenting thing just a total crap-shoot?
