Teens are always complaining

Teens are always complaining about everything. I'd pick my battles-- and say, this is the way your Dad likes to keep the temperature in our home.

Ss12 this whole summer has complained about his hot stuffy room-while he is wearing thick fleece pj bottoms, and a beanie hat. He lets his airvents get covered with blankets and pillows.

You know what i said- NOTHING.
You know what i did about it-NOTHING.

Winter is coming-and the "im cold" is coming. And i will ignore, and pretend i cant hear him.

Yes, but since school started he has only wore it once this week. Not sure if a kid made fun of him. I mean what do you expect wearing it out when its almost 90 degrees, but the humidity makes it feel hotter? Ah, well.. im sure once it cools down a little he will be wearing one everyday again.

When exH was in the service

When exH was in the service we were stationed in a tropical humid location. My mother and lil brother who was 17 at the time came to visit. Little bro was in the emo goth phase and wore black hoodies, black beanie, black t-shirt w/ white long johns underneath, black jeans, black socks and black skater shoes. Plus he carried around his black back pack that was full of crap w/his skateboard attached. You know what's coming...He whined the whole time, "It's so hot here!"

I told him to dress more appropriate for the climate, but what did I know. I was "old" and totally uncool.

I know. The thermal underwear was hilarious! I still laugh at that one. Wanna be goth's and tropical humidity just don't mesh well.

Its just a rough age of not listening to reason, eye rolling, and some sort of attention seeking, balled all in one, with hormones....

I try to think about how i was as a teen, but i was not really a jerk till about 16-17. I knew better to go to my mom with some dumb hot/cold stuff. I did complain about food though, and i was pretty messy! If i could go back and kick my messy butt, and thank my mom a little more i would!
