My bioson just made the Dean's List at Buffalo State. So I had to brag a little.

He's also in the Air Force Reserves.

Yeah I mentioned it casually. He seemed ok with it now that he isn't reading those dismal epic failure reports from his kid's school.

I'm an asshole and I'm not sure why, because I do love my DH and things have been splendid since SD17 has been gone...BUT I just can't help mentioning to him how this friend's kid is graduating at 17 because she took accelerated courses, how this friend's kid got a scholarship to good college, how this friend's kid already got a job for the summer, how this friend's kid just finished her Freshman year at college with a 4.0..... meanwhile in skid land.... Aunt J was calling again this morning to bitch about SD17, who still has no job and will be lucky to graduate next year and SS16 is smoking dope every day, will probably go into his Jr. year in September with 5 credits if he's lucky....

I think I do the bragging about all the good kids, because DH used to try and deflect skid nonsense by saying crap like "Well SD17 isn't THAT bad" Dude... she IS. Or SS16 is just a "normal" kid. Dude... he ISN'T

Yeah I would never mention

Yeah I would never mention any good stuff about my bios in the past when Chef was up to his eyeballs in "F" and "Zero" grades from his own kids. He'd stew and then get angry at ME because his kids are underachieving. I think it really stuck in his craw that I received NO CS and yet managed to raise intelligent, productive children to adulthood, whereas he has dumped BOATLOADS of money in the Girhippo's lap and she just runs out, doctor shops and gets them labeled as "disabled--other."

Meanwhile the report cards and "special ed" reports tell the tale of shitty parenting. "Child is skipping classes, tardiness, student will only complete assignments when they are of interest to student, classwork not completed or turned in, homework not completed or turned in" etc. etc.

Basically neither the Gir (nor Chef when he had the skids over every weekend for six years) made the precious poo-poos do ANYTHING that wasn't fun, FUN FUN !

Life is all a bowl of cherries, doncha know. EXACTLY the opposite of what I taught MY bios!!!
