It's been awhile, I have an interesting update
To recap for those who haven't been following Teen Mom SD18 got knocked up in the school restroom a few months before her 16th bday, by a boy who was 18. He is a loser who has already done time at the ripe old age of 20. She didn't even tell anyone, her mother figured it out when she was about 7 months along. Fortunately, they live 1000 miles away so the drama isn't destroying my marriage.
Well, after DH paid for SD's prom he thought it would be great to get her a great big graduation gift. So he took $2500 out of our retirement, without even talking to me, so she would have a down payment for a car. Well, here we are 3 months later, and SD has no car, no money, and guess what? A gigantic tattoo of Dora the Explorer on her back. WTF?????
My DH has been wising up to her immaturity. It helped that I told him some of the stories here, about SD's that are approaching thirty and still sending Daddy their Xmas wishlist, and acting like Dad is a friend or boyfriend and using him for cash. He is very wary, he wants to believe the best but he doesn't trust her anymore.
On the seriously creepy front, I googled SD's name. She has an unusual name, I am pretty sure she is the only one in the US with that name. What came up, I just have no words. SD opened a wedding registry under my husband's name(which is somewhat unusual) and her name. The event date was her birthday and the only thing listed was a bedding set. I don't know if I should tell DH about it or what but I am kind of freaking out here.

Dora the Explorer? Wow... ok.
Dora the Explorer? Wow... ok.
I would imagine her "wedding registry" is really her birthday wish list and she wanted to make sure daddy purchased the right one.
I get that it is her bday
I get that it is her bday list, but couldn't she just send a link via email? Did she have to make a wedding registry with her dad's name?
At least he is done buying her gifts now. He says she is an adult, it's time for Santa to bring gifts to her child instead of her.
She is obviously not very
She is obviously not very smart. I mean... got knocked up in the school bathroom at age 16, and a Dora Tattoo? She is seriously stupid.
My DH has been saying that. I
My DH has been saying that. I try to think there is some complexity to the chaos that is her life, but most likely she is that dumb. My husband asked about prosecuting the guy, they said no way (there is a CS order). He asked if she was going to marry this guy, she said no, she doesn't even like him, she just had sex with him at school because he asked her to. Who does that?
Speechless - I have no words
Speechless - I have no words for this at all ! Other than OMG!
Well, it's not like she can
Well, it's not like she can get here with out a car.
What about getting babydaddy
What about getting babydaddy on statuatory rape charges? And I'm not even going there w/ the Dora tattoo :? :? :? mmmmkaythen.
Perhaps a more appropriate &
Perhaps a more appropriate & necessary gift would be a giftcard for counseling services. Maybe she didn't intend for it to come across as it has, but it's clear that she could use some help in understanding boundaries & what's appropriate.
There are other ways of conveying what she'd like for her birthday than creating a wedding registry for her & her father.
Thankfully, since she blew
Thankfully, since she blew the car money Dh isn't buying presents anymore. He is trying to set a boundary with these gift wish lists. He doesn't mind helping her with things she needs, but she isn't trying to be responsible. It's like she still wants to be a little girl that plays all the time and dad buys her toys and tells her how wonderful she is.
I wonder what Dora will look
I wonder what Dora will look like when Ms18 is 60? A map of Mexico with legs?
As for the registry.... I think she was messing around and as she cannot remember the name of the baby's father she put in her Dad's name, worked out how to check things off, walked away from the computer and promptly forgot her password.
I'm glad I am not alone. It's
I'm glad I am not alone. It's crazy isn't it? It's like they go into heat and need to be kept away from single males until .it passes.
