Ok...so the story is that I have never really had an issue with my DD14 spending time with her dad or liking her SM....matter of fact, I encourage DD in those relationships. DD's biodad is a Marine...has been her whole life. So, she has lived away from him pretty much her whole life. She has gone to visit him (and now his wife, her step sibs and as of recent..her half brother) only a handful of times in the years past...whenever my exMIL would go for a visit..she would take DD.

A scary sight!!

Ok...I admit...I was trolling on my DD and SD's (both 14) Facebook page. I want so badly to correct some of the things I see on these pages..the kids talking like trash and most of them sounding so uneducated, it's ridiculous!! What is the deal with spelling these days (ex: girl=gurhl; me=meh; cool=cuhl and much more)? I know it has to do with texting, but it's getting crazy!

And...it happens....

Here we are...2 six weeks until the end of the school year. DH has said all school year that he would not pay for SD to attend summer school again this year (he just paid for her to go to summer school last summer). But, he found a way to pay for it in a round about way. Yesterday, he informed me that he told SD that she would pay for summer school herself. How? Her savings account. Her savings account that only he and his parents deposit money into. Her savings account that she doesn't have access to and never thinks of and therefore, doesn't seem real to her.

Back to business as usual

I am back to report that things seemed to have slipped back into the "old way" as I predicted they would. I was really hoping that they wouldn't, but I guess I really knew better. However, I do have to say, things still aren't as "bad" as they used to be. SD14 is still very disrespectful to her dad and has stopped being more nice to me (no more hugs), but she still speaks to me more often than she used to.

It's unbelievable!!

Again, some time has passed since the last time I logged in (before Christmas, I think). There have been some changes in my life...some good, some bad, some that were just expected...

I'll save the good for last because it's that good.

Hello everyone...it's been a little over 5 weeks since I have logged in (I had surgery and just didn't log in from home!) First, I hope everyone's Christmas season is going wonderfully...getting all your "To Do's" done and able to enjoy some time off. I have been back to work for 3 days and will be on vacation for a week after today, so it's been a little easier coming back to work because of the short week.

What a weekend!

I didn't get near as much done as I wanted, but I'm not superwoman...after all. I managed to get our room and SS's room cleaned and ready for DD and myself to occupy for a week or so. Got all the sheets washed on everyone's bed (well..except SD's sheets...oh well).

Not only is it TGIF!!!, but I just found out that the skids are going out of town this weekend with AM!!! DYNOMITE!!! I love these weekends. I enjoy weekends when they are at AM's, but we never know when/if they are coming home, but when they all go out of town...it's certain that they won't be home until Sunday--if even then!!!! I am hoping that AM is picking them up from school since it's Friday (DH generally insists that skids come to our house after school to get homework done, but we do not make them do homework on Friday afternoon...we allow them to do it throughout the weekend).

Here we go again. It's time for the progress reports to come out (this Friday, I think) and the skids are both failing 4 out of 7 classes yet again. I am wondering what DH will be doing about this because this is the same six weeks that he told the skids that "things are going to change". Is he going to keep his word and start taking things away or will it just be another lecture where the skids roll their eyes and get more attitude than a woman who is going through PMS?!
