Should a stepparent earn the skids respect?

Tonight SS has made it clear that he does not respect me because I'm not his mother. DH asked him right in front of me. Not sure what to do aaaaaaand DH has made it clear SS isn't going back to his mother. My kids are respectful period but I raise mine differently than BM raises hers but I also didn't do drugs while pregnant either like she did.

How does your SO feel about your Steptalk account?

Mine was "borrowing" my phone and just so happened to see my posts in here and said SS will go back to BM after Christmas because he knows I don't like him being here. Overall SS is an ok kid when he's not pissing me off. I had a long talk with him a couple of weeks ago and had to be very stern and now he seems to be doing as he's been told.

School has started no turning back now

It is very unfortunate that SS13 is living with us at least until the end of the school year.. He has now shown DH the same disrespect that he has shown me. Yesterday someone called but we didn't get to the phone in time and SS13 grabbed the phone but no one was there. DH told him to hang up the phone and let me see the caller id to see who called. SS then told DH ," I am calling my sisters!" DH then told him no, and to hang up the phone. SS said again, " I am calling my sisters!" And that's exactly what he did. I just stood there and watched him disobey.
