SD15 was caught smoking pot the day before her 15th b-day. BM still had a party for her, however she was grounded from friends, phone, internet, etc. She was also supposed to sign her up for counseling.

Fast forward a few weeks and she's back on Facebook. No counseling has been setup. I have control of her phone so it's still restricted. Her father is lavishing attention on her and she's convinced everyone she started smoking pot because she was so miserable with us and BM is making up excuse after excuse for her. Oh yeah, I'm the reason she was miserable because I don't put up with her disrespect, manipulative crap, and I make her follow rules.

Why don't these parents see they aren't helping this kid. I know the parents weren't raised by wolves so they have some idea of what to do. How hard is it to follow through with grounding and setting up couseling? (btw the counseling is free through my employer)

I'm just so sick of it. I'm the only one concerned about anything. Hell my own husband told me to quit telling the kids to take their medicine (asthma medication) because they'd get sick and figure it out.?????

I set up a counseling session for her myself today. I also told her I wouldn't be unrestricting her phone until January 1.
