These have brought to mind a movie I remember from when I was very young.
The Savage is Loose.
It is a 1974 film produced by and staring Georce C. Scott.
O/T - ALPHA - Movie recommendation.
If you have never seen it, I highly recommend it. It is new on NetFlix.
It is a 2018 film about a stone age tribe and the establishment of the relationship between humans and wolves (Dogs).
An excellent movie.
Ive been looking forward to it coming to streaming services.

But it's my dream *Fill in the blank".
DW is on a call with our eldest niece in my IL clan.
She was hired full time with the school district as a SN student class aid at the beginning of this school year. This is about the only chance that she, her mother, and my SIL have at a long term job that will provide benefits and a pension.

Adolescence - NetFlix limited series.
This is one intense show. If the first episode is indicative of the whole series, this is going to be an emotional roller coaster.
Not specifically step related but certainly some parallels to what parents in general and far too many SParents struggle with regarding early teens and beyond.

O/T - A view into the lives of my parents.
My dad is a journal-er. He has been for as long as I can remember. I have forbidden him to dispose of his journal books and Daytimers as I consider them treasures. With the advent of e-mail he has taken to doing a weekly publication of what he refers to as ... The Blurp. Lol.

On the topic of aging, aging relatives, and younger Gens expecting to inherit.
This is way toooooo long btw. I'll start with my appologies.
DW was late getting home last night. Not unusual. It is tax season and she works batshit crazy hours from Mid Jan through Mid Apr.
Anyway, she texts last night about an hour later than she usually calls on her way home from the office. She was sitting in the garage on the phone with her aunt. I did not hear the garage door open since we are in a cold snap and the heat is cycling on and off periodically.
Sort of O/T - What are your ingrained triggers?
I have some.
1. Infidelity. Probably amplified by the serial adulterous XW. This is an absolute deal breaker for me and also an absolute non starter. Like a red flag waiving in front of a bull kinda thing.

I've been following Billie Tarascio for several months. She is a divorce attorney, a divorced mom, and an SM..
She has a couple of social media platforms. I received this e-m today. We, DW and I, came up with the tacics we used to confront and mitigate the toxic spermclan. What we evolved to with the SpermClan is not dissimilar to what Billie references in the e-m below.
O/T Happy birthday #61 to me.
Yesterday I passed 60. I still don't feel any different than I did when I turned 18 until I look at the waist size on my 501s after the stiff and achy transition out of bed every AM. Fortunately, a warm shower akes care of that and I get back to as my bride says "being my usual 13yo PITA". And the white bearded silver haired guy looking back at me in the mirror can't possibly be me.
