LMR120's picture

Just got a bill in the mail from the dentist for BFs daughter. Its not a lot its on $200 but Im upset because BM didnt tell BF that she was taking her to the dentist so we didnt know that this bill would be coming. Not that we cant cover it but thats not really the point now is it?

I get what you are saying and you are right it probably is a waste of energy I just feel like if you are going to do something that is going to cost me money at LEAST give me the heads up.

no way! bm signed the papers she would be responsible.... but your insurance & divorce papers probably hold bd responsible... :jawdrop: i would send half to the biller and a copy of bm's mailing address........... makes me sick :sick:

Their divorce paperwork says both parents will have insurance on the kids. Here is the issue. My BF just retired from the military so there was about a two month period where Dependant dental care was not activated so at that point BM should have payed since the paperwork says BOTH parties will have insurance. Am I off on that? She didnt call to make sure that it was all in working order knowing that he was not active duty anymore then she should have to cover it

EXACTLY It the I can do what I want and BF will have to deal with it. All she had to do was wait until the first of June.

LMR - Can you do a combination of what is said above?

For example, have BF call BM and let her know he got the bill, and remind her that she should tell him when she's taking SD to the dentist so that he can prepare to pay, and so that he doesn't have to juggle paying her and paying a bill. And then just pay it.

And if she continues.. keep calling and reminding her. If it keeps up, when it's time for you to send something to BM... just "forget" until she has to ask about it. I'm not telling you to do this with her CS - that's a dangerous game.. but if there is something else that she asks for, you could just "forget" until she brings it up.

Like Lauren said, if you can pay it, it's not worth the hassle. It's more a matter of common courtesy for BM to respect BF enough to tell him he is getting a bill.

Because I'm not divorced my kid many times has to wait to go to the dentist, get new glasses, etc...now if I was divorced I could just send my ex the bill directly? Gotta love it!

I know right! I dont get to go when I want I have wait for the military to tell me I can go so why the fuck should she get to go when she wants too. All she had to do was wait a month or less give me a break

The privildged life of kids of divorce who have a responsible ncp...rest of the kids? Too bad...

I'm seriously thinking divorce will benefit my son greatly...sigh...no joke.

I know right ... My BF is deployed right now so I just scanned the bill and sent it to him so he can send it to her and tell her that she owes him $100. We'll see how that goes Smile

If you have the money to cover it and thats not really the issue then just pay it.
++++++++++++++++++++++++

Not bashing, but I do not understand this mentality at all. I will be damn if an EX (don’t care it is a parent to my child.) is going to just bill me for something I had no idea about. I will also be damned if I would not raise a very large stink about BM being a moron.

My DH does not spend my money, no way on earth is an ex going to spend my money!!

I know what you mean. Its not about the money its about the lack of respect. I know she is used to how it was when he was active duty military she could call anytime she wanted and make appts for the kids whenever she wanted and it didnt coast anything. Well hes not active duty anymore there are co-pays now so how about you have some fucking manners and at least give us a heads up that we will be getting a dental bill. I mean heaven forbid you let SD3 father know that she has a medical appt. Geezzz
