I practiced law as a divorce attorney for about a year and to be honest with you, there is a reason I came back to criminal defense. I couldn't stand dealing with people who complained about every little thing and would ask all the time what they were paying me for. Dont' get me wrong, my clients complain now, but the difference is, as court appointed counsel I am only in control of so much and they can't complain that they wasted their money. Plus, when I don't have to worry about chasing them down to get their payments, I can focus on what I really love, which is the practice of law.

This weekend was the first visit with BM and kids in the last three months. I went to Vegas a month ago for four days and I missed the kids like crazy. I called every night, I walked 4 miles to get the souvenirs and drove home at 1 am so I could be there to wake them up Sunday morning. BM hasn't seen them for three months and couldn't even show up sober to the visit. Did the fucking visitation supervisors stop the visit? Of course not. They let her sit there and alternate between crying and yelling at them for an hour.

Another phone call last night, this time she yelled at the kids, and of course she won't remember that today because she was again drunk. This time the kids knew it and told me so. So that's lovely. Glad we agreed to supervised phone calls when the supervisor is too fucking incompetent to stop a drunk phone call. I realize they make a whopping $9.00 an hour, but the other night when I was there the lady criticized me, ME, because the 2 year old still uses a pacifier, but mom can call shitcanned drunk and criticize the kids and that is just hunk dorie. AAAAAARRRRRGGGGHHHHH

Girls had early dismissal today. SO just sent me a text. Apparently SD9 took all the junk she bought yesterday with her back to school today, unbeknownst to us, and exchanged it for books. He just sent me a picture of her beaming with her books. Good job SD9. Ok, she may be a keeper.
