Men are so clueless!

My in-laws live 5 minutes away. We have them over for dinner every few weeks. Or should I say DH invites them to dinner...

I've asked him a million times to check with me first before inviting them. It's not a cooking thing- he does most of the cooking. But it's a time and space thing... When they come, he wants to make a mad dash to clean the house, and then they stay forever. We have dinner, then they want to linger over coffee during desert.

"Human" response?

I'm always nagging at DH that even though BM is psycho, he should at least try to treat her with human decency... I have always intervened for him in the past, and have spent the last 11 years being the go between for the two of them, as I knew it was best for the skids. AS their custodial SM, it just made things easier on me if I knew what was going on...

Time to talk...

DH is home from his business trip. So much happened in the three days he was gone. And I dealt with it all by myself, and followed his "don't call me" edict he issued Wednesday night. I know the skids called him, but not me. I stuck it out. I'm sure the skids told him how sick I was. I know we have many things to talk about today, but I am happy to report that he spent the day laying in bed with me, watching TV and rubbing my back. I can't remember the last time we had a day that centered around me! (I should be sick more often! LOL)

Great! Now the other one flips out...

My life is a nightmare, part 2: SS15 has taken off in the truck to drive over to a friend's house. In our state, that's not legal.

SD17 has not run-off, after last nights situation (see other posts). She did shuttle brother to and from his ballgame, and brought his friend home with him. I guess SS and his friend decided not to wait around for the friend's mom to get him from here, and SS took the truck and drove his friend home.

Can it get any crazier?! Another long one...

First of all, I just have to say how "empowering" (that's not really the word I want, but I can't think of the right one...) it is to be able to truly release my thoughts and feelings here, and to have so many people offer advice and insight from their lives.

For the last week, my life has been a mess. I won't recap, if you're interested, see my other posts. Anyway, DH and I finally had time to talk last night. Since he was getting ready to leave town on business, I made conversation mandatory.

Go ahead. Keep it up. See how much more I can take... LONG, Sorry!

DH's parting words on the phone last night were "Figure it out, someone has to leave," regarding me and an issue with his kids.

He hardly said 2 words to me at all last night when he got home. I did hear him really lay into his kids, but they were both like, "we didn't say that," "She's over-reacting..."

DH even had SS14 come apologize since he was the one that caused the problem. (See previous posts)

2 steps forward, 2000 back...

Why? Why? Why? What did I ever do to deserve this?

Nice day- skids had school, BS8 and I did not. Ran errands, ate out lunch, came home and did the few cleaning chores I actually enjoy. BS and I played Wii and organized some surprises we'd picked up for his half-siblings.

3:50 arrives and only 1 skid gets off the bus. Call husband. He thinks SD had drill team practice, but doesn't know where SS14 is... A call my SIL to see if he might be there- he's not.

Luckiest SM on the planet right now!

On of the skids just told me they have school tomorrow- a make-up day from the snow we had last week! Ha-Ha, they have to go to school, and my district has the day off. BS8 and I both get to sleep in- maybe we'll see a movie and enjoy a day, just us!

That's great news, cause I was really dreading being here with them tomorrow!

Don't say it DH unless you really mean it!!!

DH and SS14 had a major blowout this afternoon. SS14 was mad, and called him every name in the book and started swinging punches... All because he had to help with a few chores to "pay back" the $10 he had borrowed for the school dance last night.

I was inside the house, but I could hear SS yelling all kinds of obsenities. I heard the dirtbike roar down the gravel road, and then more yelling. Then it got quiet. I looked out the window to make sure they hadn't killed one another. LOL
