frustrated
First of all, I love my stepdaughter who is a teenager. We get along great, except for the fact of her mother. It takes her a while to warm up to me after she's been around her mother. My problem is with my husband and my son. My husband is a stepdad to my son who is a teenager. My son went to live with his dad recently, visits on the weekend. When my SD is around we can't do anything unless it is what she wants to do. If she doesn't want to go camping we don't go. If my son wants to go hunting, fishing, etc with stepdad he won't take him unless stepdaughter has other plans. I feel like we are put to the side. I wished my husband would treat my son as he would his daughter, I guess that won't every happen.

Tough one! Before my SD13
Tough one! Before my SD13 came to live with us; we would have her on the weekends and dad would go all out; we would do everything and anything!! When she wasn't going to be with us; we wouldn't do anything. And if the other kids wanted to do something we had to wait till she could come... Very annoying.
It took three months of her living with us FT for him to have a talk with her about how FAKE it all was; how he felt he had to entertain her all the time; thank god it stopped and now we act "normal"
I would make plans and stick to them regardless if she comes or not! It took me awhile to realize that; but you have the right!!
thanks for comment, glad
thanks for comment, glad there is someone else out there that went through what I am going through. I feel bad for my son, cause he really wants him to take him hunting and stuff, but we have stepdaughter same weekend so won't take him, so I just feel bad for him. I have even offered doing something fun with his daughter, while they go, still same answer. I have a neighbor across street that will take him, it's just not the same though.
