I have low tolerance for nastiness and abuse towards children because I work for a sector of the Department and Children and Families. I am a mandated reporter and I see mental and emotional abuse day in and day out. I see the affect it has on the children and it is not pretty. There is also a high number of steps/BF and GF types that are the culprits of the abuse. When abuse is suspected the first question asked is always "Is there a BF or GF in the house?"

I mentioned this to hubby and we are torn as to whether or not this would be the best route for the girls.

On the one hand we all know BM is a drug addict, she has mental issues, she dumped the girls annd moved away with BF and kept VERY limited contact, she has endangeared them, she is incarcerated and she has not gave one red cent to help support them in over two years. This may VERY WELL be grounds enough to terminate rights. Maybe not.

I have not heard a peep from BM, BM's mother or her psychotic sister since the last conversation with Grandma which has been a month ago. It didn't go well and ended with me telling her the fruit obviously didn't fall far from the tree. She lied about handing out my cell number and tried to tell me BM was not "crazy". Ummmmmm....OK. Whatever. Tell that to her lung she blew out with a shot gun but that's ANOTHER story.

I got the list of supplies that the girls "need" for the new school year and I was really irritated when I read it. They wanted 3 packs of #2 Pencils, 3 packs of loose notebook paper, 4 single subject composition books, 6 freaking gluesticks, 2 erasers, scissors, a box of 16 count crayons, pencil case, backpack, group hand sanitizer and a box of baby wipes. This is for each kid. I sit just me or does it sound like we are stocking this womans classroom? I am willing to bet all this crap goes on a "community shelf" for everyone to use. The problem is not every kids paretn buys the stuff.
