Just one last message about suicide and loss. If anyone here is ever feeling that they are teetering on the edge and can't bring yourself to speak to someone you know or know someone who is considering suicide, please call 1-800-273-TALK. Its the National Suicide Hotline and they are more than willing to help you and find someone that can help you. They helped me. Don't let life take yours.

I apologize for all of the sad posts, but I take suicide very seriously. I know several people who have taken their own lives and have been there myself. I don't take this lightly and with the post from KeepsGettingBetter's fiance, we may not always realize how much stress we put on ourselves in some of these step-situations and among other things.

Fading,

I lost my brother to suicide a little over three years ago. I can tell you that it one of the most heart wrenching terrible ways to lose someone you love. I sometimes question why I was able to help my dh (heading down this road when I met him) and not be able to help my own brother. The aftermath is far-reaching and you never get the sense of understanding death that you may get in a natural death or an accidental death. He left no note and there are so many unanswered questions and feelings of inadequacy in not realizing how depressed / overwhelmed he was. He left behind a two year old daughter, who I know he loved more than anything and can't comprehend how he could leave her behind. Thank you for this post on Suicide prevention.

And to anyone out there struggling, please call the number or get help in some other way. You may not see today why life is worth it, but you also never know what kind of happiness is right around the corner.
