10. the way i catch you kissing my dogs when i'm not looking
9. the way you donated some of your saved money to help pay for MY dog's operation
8. the way you let my girls play in your room even though they bug the crap out of you
7. the way you walk them home from school, the days you remember anyway, lol
6. the way we forgive each other in our own little ways
5. the way you try to be like me in my art, music and hobbies even though in the past i've taken so little interest in you
4. the way you always eat my dinner even when it tastes really bad, which it most often does
3. the way you listen to my rules when i ask you once, while everyone else takes advantage of me
2. our shared love for all things halo.......believe me, this has made the most difference
1. the way you always give me instead of your mother, the mother's day present you worked so hard on at school, even though i don't really deserve it most of the time.

this should go into the success stories forum, huh. perhaps a regrets forum. i guess although i have a lot of bad days, if i stop and think about it, i'm mostly pretty lucky. maybe i'm just getting ready to start my period and so i'm really hormonal and sappy. i'll know for sure in 5 -7 days. Wink

Oh, how sweet, gag. For those of us who deal with total daily crap and cannot create a top ten list about skid (or a top 1 for that matter) here is my sarcastic list of top ten things I like about skid, NOT!

1. the way you have no interest in sports, until its bedtime, and then you manipulate your dad into letting you stay up late by asking him questions about football and letting the poor sap think his son shares an interest with him (the manipulation gene comes from BM)
2. the way you are 13 and have yet to learn how to walk down the stairs like a normal person, rather than thumping down like an elephant
3. The way you are your mother's clone....who more do I want to see across the table at dinner than my hubby's nasty ex?
4. the way you give generous gifts, HA, that your dad drags you out to buy, that are paid for with his money, even though you get an insanely large allowance as a reward for sitting on your ass
5. the way you could not identify a vacuum cleaner, or a duster, or a sponge or a washing machine from a line-up
6. the way you appreciate all that you have and all you are given (sense the sarcasm?)...ie. the way you open grandma's check for $100, sent just because she loves you, and shrug your shoulders and go back to your video games and can't be bothered to call or write a thank you...so charming.
7. the way you prove how loud an only child can actually be. I had no idea how much noise one child could make while playing video games solo.
8. the way you leave your stinky socks on the kitchen counter....oh, thats my favorite
9. the way you walk by the mailbox every single day, and just can't manage to open it and carry the mail inside...or how you walk by packages on the doorstep, but can't be bothered to put them in the house.
10. The way you disappear to play video games 10 hours a day and then expect dad to drop everything to cater to you the moment you emerge from hiding

Oh, I could go on. And on. And on. In truth though, there is ONE thing I am thankful for about skid.....EVERY OTHER WEEK, HE IS GONE!

actually i did see a place on here for people with top 10 lists describing their disgust for children. i simply wanted to take the road less traveled for a moment, and stop and appreciate a little bit of the good each of us has. if you're willing to search for it, you can find something in everyone, i think. Sad

You're absolutely right! For instance, it's good that SOME people aren't MY step-mom! Blum 3
