Told DH flat out truth last night

Shieldmaiden's picture

Last night I had a talk with DH. We were going to follow our family therapist to her new employer - but their front desk team was so wierd and combative, that we decided to find a new family therapist. (SD18 has weird anger, depression, and mood swings and can't hold a job. She is making plans to "land" at our house forever, and I can't abide this.

So, it has been 2 weeks and still no effort on DH's part to find a new therapist, so I told him how I felt about that.

Stressed & Annoyed + COVID Testing

Crystalmuffin's picture

Since my last blog post, it was feeling like there were improvements being made as far as my feelings toward SD5. (She turns 6 in April.) I'm beginning to think/realize it will always be this ebb and flow of taking steps forward, then back.

Below is my list of petty annoyances, then I will go into detail about how I really feel.

1. Wears her rollerskates in our second story apartment.

Why won't he just parent his kids!!!!!!!

Frustrated future SM's picture

I'm a 26 year old first time mom of a 4 month old baby girl. Dating a guy, 28, with 2 kids of his own from a previous relationship, BS8 and BD4. And the 4 month old is our daughter together. We aren't married yet and I honestly dont know if I'd ever marry him at this point because his kids drive me bonkers!

Feeling more positive

I'm starting to feel better about dealing with having a stepfamily. Between reading Stepmonster and recognizing alot of dynamics that are common to stepfamilies that I'm dealing with, venting and reading on this site, and semi disengaging I'm starting to feel happier. I'm so grateful to have found this site. Stepfamily information just isn't easy to find like parenting and relationship information is.

After 4 years stepdaughter (husband's daughter) was completely honest and now i'm hurt - NEED ADVICE - LONG POST!!!

angelique78's picture

Hi, this my first post here. Let me start saying that i’m from Brazil, so my English may be kind broken. I went throught the forums, but I didn’t find anything related to my problem. I’m married with a wonderful man, he has a 15 yo daughter and i have a 12 yo daughter. I’ve living at the same house with him, her (50/50) and my daughter for 4 years. My main issue is that his daughter is kind cold and distant and never showed any interest in me or my DD. When she comes to our house she is just polite and civil towards me. She is not a bad girl at all, I have to say.
