There have always been issues at my son's dad's house with his SM and her daughter. Mostly inequality issues, fighting (constantly!) and really amazing disrespect by his step sister (18) towards house rules. There's a stepbrother (16) involved too, and my son (and I) really like him. He's a bit awkward, but he's kind and polite and a little simple. He's picked on mercilessly by his sister.

My heart aches for my son (14) who is so torn right now. He has tried many times to get his dad to step in and promote respect and peace, but it's been years that he's been asking for this. My son hates to see his stepbrother bullied by his sister, and his stepmom doesn't stand up for her own son. My son can't understand how a mom can be like that (bless him) and wishes that his dad loved his stepbrother the way my husband loves him (his words!)

He's planning to have dinner with his dad and stepbrother Monday night to see if they can form a united front. He's hoping if he tells his dad he's thinking about not living with him anymore, maybe his dad will try harder. He said he couldn't leave his step brother there! God, what a weight for him to feel!
