Who else wishes for the holidays to be over?

Because holidays like Thanksgiving, Christmas, etc ... mean that we are supposed to spend more time with family. If it were my wife and I, then it would be great, but with the teenage stepkids -- I actually wish for these times to be over. That's an awful thing, I know. Who else feels this way? I wish I didn't.

I live about 400 miles from Las Vegas and although there are many people who visit Vegas over the holidays they seem to fall into two categories besides the gamblers. First the families which bring everyone with them - or at least the ones they like. Second the ones leaving families at home.
You're far from alone in wishing these over commercialized "holidays" didn't exist. By and large I ignore them. Take the kids out to lunch and invite the Grandkids to do the same which is mostly ignored.
