What would you do differently?

Hi! For few seconds Im going to stop talking about the ex wife or her kid and I want to focus on something more important.
I'm going to be a first time mom and I'm doing a search about all the things that are really necessary in my baby's nursery room. If you have to do it again in what you would spend money or not at all? Besides my questions I appreciate other comments/suggestions that you can add. Thank you.
Newborn:
1. Travel System Stroller vs Snugrider Snap n Go or else?
2. Crib and Nice bed vs Convertible Crib?
3. Bassinet, Infant Rest or Moses Basket. How many of you put the baby to sleep with you?
4. Baby slings or carriers or else?
5. Someone mention that they put a small radio, monitor and a tv. Do you think is something necessary?
6. Diaper Genie or similar vs just a regular trash can?

My DD will be 1 year next week so my answers are recent

**I prefer the infant carrier with the car base - I didn't get the big stroller that went with it because it was too big I did get the frame that the car seat fits into and loved it for when she was little - quick easy & light.
**I reused my son's crib and it's a convertible but we won't be breaking it down to a bed -
**DS & DD slept in the pack in play in our room for the first few months - I did get one that had the bassinet attachment and loved it.
**I do have a small clock radio in DD's room - helps me see the time if she wakes in the middle of the night and she does love the music.
**We used a Diaper Genie with my son and this time around, we just take the diapers out to the trash everytime and have a bag to put them in out there - either way works
**I didn't use a wipe warmer - dries out the bottom wipes - I've heard sometimes it can be as many as 25% - They are at room temperature anyway
**I got 2 crib mattress covers and 2 changer pad covers - that way I always had a clean one.
**I did not have but wish I did - a glider - no room when I had DS and it just got away from me with DD

My 1st is only a few months old and here are my thoughts.

1. Travel System Stroller vs Snugrider Snap n Go or else?
I bought a jogger and have loved going out for walks/runs to help with my mood and get back into shape. The stroller came with a base and car seat so I didn't need to buy a seperate one.

2. Crib and Nice bed vs Convertible Crib?
I did a convertible crib but I know that when he is older he can pick out a bed he likes. These were cheaper than the nice cribs so that I can spend more money on a bed he will like for a longer time.

3. Bassinet, Infant Rest or Moses Basket. How many of you put the baby to sleep with you?
I didn't want the baby to sleep in our room. I wanted him to have his own and get accustomed to it. We just started him out in his crib. Again I didn't want to spend the extra money on a bassinet. We did block off part of the crib so it didn't feel so big to him. I only did that for the 1st month when I knew that he wasn't moving at all.

4. Baby slings or carriers or else?
Just bought a carrier and it is a savior. My little one loves to be held so he gets what he wants and I still have free hands. Win-win.

5. Someone mention that they put a small radio, monitor and a tv. Do you think is something necessary?
No I don't think its necessary at all. I will say that my hubby and I argued over a night light. He wanted one I didn't. Keep in mind that I have a 15 year old step that still sleeps with a night light so I'm dead set against my child being like that. Just a personal opinion. I bought a lamp and put in a low watt light to help me see to change a diaper at night. Once I leave the lamp goes off. Think about it do they really need a light? Theyve been in the dark for 9 months.

6. Diaper Genie or similar vs just a regular trash can?
I do a regular trash can with the scented liners. If its a stinky poop it goes immediatly out to the dumpster.

I have a rocking chair and I would not do without. I love to rock him to sleep both at night and durning the day for his naps.

Also a swing is a great thing to get. Several nights it was the only thing that could put him to sleep.

Good luck and congrats!
