This made me laugh!
Forums:
I was just telling DH I needed some candy. He replied, "Three boxes of candy for the month of May is enough." I replied, "What do you mean? I had three boxes in three days!" Haha!!! He makes me laugh! We have fun together. I love my life.
Friends, I am curious....
What is your favorite candy?
What about your life are you loving right now?
Candy cigarettes are my sugar
Candy cigarettes are my sugar crack. I'd take them over chocolate any day.
King Pita has backed off and I am in high demand and loving 97% of my job. I'm so busy, the days FLY by!
For whatever reason, DH and I feel exceptionally close lately. While it's been years since any issues, we've been grooving on the same wavelength for a few months now. It's such a warm, fuzzy, comfortable feeling.
Yes!
I remember candy cigarettes when I was a child. In my Halloween goodies, I believe? Have no idea what they taste like! Chocolate, especially dark chocolate...now your're talking my language!
Awesome! Are you talking about that sweet spot of 'busy', but not 'crazy busy'? Sounds like you are winning!
I love that you and your husband are "grooving on the same wavelength"! Keep basking in the glow. Blessings to you both!
Candy cigarettes taste like
Candy cigarettes taste like sugar and childhood lol
Oh, it's 'crazy busy' but it's sweet! It's the kind of busy I thrive on so definitely a win.
Thank you! I've been dealing with some health scares and he has been an absolute rock for me. Doing things for me despite being tired from work, patient when I'm stressing, and going out of his way to make me feel special and loved. I am very blessed. <3
Yes!
You are blessed, he's a keeper!!!
Take care of you Ani.
I am thrilled that your and DH are in a good place and that he has your back.
Feel better soon.
I have never really had a
I have never really had a favorite candy though I prefer tart to sweet when it comes to candy. Usually.
Not having a major sweet tooth is a blessing considering that at 16 I was Dx'd as a T-1 diabetic.
However, if I was going the death by carb path, I would do cheese cake and chips, salsa and a killer queso.
My historical one candy crave, though not tart and an extremely rare crave, is a cold Bounty bar. When I would have one, I would put it in the refrigerator for a few days before I eat it. Dark chocolate around coconut.
Enjoy your treats!
!
Type 1, that is rough. I'm sorry you deal with this; I hope you are taking good care of YOU!
"Cheese cake and chips, salsa and a killer queso"...Yes to all of this! I recently made a cheesecake with bourban vanilla bean paste, strawberry compote, and homemade fresh whipped cream topped with flaky salt...so good!
I do not know of a Bounty bar, but it sounds like a Mounds...yum!
Yep. Much like a Mounds though with dark choclolate.
As for being a T-1. This year I will hit my 45th Dx anniversary. Overall I'm doing very well. No chronic related health issues though over the past ~5yrs I have had some eye issues. Nothing that is a major threat to my vision though it drives me nuckin futz when I have a hemorrhage and then weeks of "swarms of bees" wafting around my eyeballs. My Doc has advised not getting a corrective surgery since my vision is still good and the problem is intermittent. She is definitely an eyeball Nazi but she is an outstanding ophthalmologist. The "bedside manner" of Attila the Hun but truly a gifted healer. It took me a few years but she finally will occasionally crack a smile when she and I are bantering while she is stabbing me in the eyeballs with a syringe upon occasion. She recently fired me half time because of how stable my eyes have been. Frustrating for me, but fortunately healthy and not causing risk to my vision.
But, I digress.
Have a great day.
Plain m&ms.
Plain m&ms.
Put them in the freezer!
A very different experience to room temp.
My Mum used to freeze a mars
My Mum used to freeze a mars bar an then cut it into tiny squares for me and my brother to share. My Nana would freeze grapes, the big white Italian ones. I used to spend my pocket money on those grapes, not on sweets or chocolate. To this day, I remain hooked, only now I can get them fully ripe and straight from Italy.
!
Beautiful memories of your Mum and Nana! I am not familiar with a Mars bar? Grapes...yes! Have you ever been to Italy? It's on my bucket list.
I've been to Italy on
I've been to Italy on numerous occasions, it's only a 2-3 hour drive from where I live. *smile*
I've also visited via the Alps (Petit St Bernard Pass). The scenery in the Aoste valley is breathtaking. Absolutely stunning.
!
This all sounds amazing! Would love to view the scenery, as DD has shared her photos from several trips to Europe. She has a gift for photography. She loves to immerse herself in the culture, meet the people, try new foods, etc. She has been lucky enough to meet people and make friends all over the globe. I would like to experience some of that. Bucket list....

There's no point in having a bucket list if you don't start planning things and There's no better time to start than now!
Yes!
In the process of getting a passport now...I have never had one!
I've been doing my research
I've been doing my research and what I call mars bars you might call milky way...
Gotcha!
I do know of Milky Way!
Frozen grapes on a hot summer day are like little fresh fruit
Frozen grapes on a hot summer day are like little fresh fruit popsicles.
Mom used to do that for us when we were sweaty little desert rats growing up in the Middle East as kids. All of the neighborhood kids would hang out at our house and raid the freezer grapes.
!
Yum! Rumplestiltskin, have you ever tried the peanut butter?
Anything chocolate. Anything
Anything chocolate. Anything with nuts.
Loving life: Springtime! I love this time of year so much. Loving my work as well.
Yes!
You are talking my kind of candy! Chocolate, nuts...and anything toffee related!
Sounds like life is good for you! Agreed, Spring is lovely...the warmth of the sun, the birds chirping, the flowers starting to bloom, fresh rhubard...I love it all!
I love candy. My favorite
I love candy. My favorite types as I get older are candies without artifical color or flavor. Lately I have been enjoying chocolate, caramel, macadamia nut clusters. I enjoy all types of chocolate. I like hershey's kisses. I love caramel and toffee. I like sour candies such as sour gummy bears but have a hard time finding decent tasting ones without artifical junk.
Why stop at just candy? I also love cake, especially vanilla cake with buttercream frosting. I love lemon cake with lemon frosting, strawberry cake with strawberry frosting, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, orange cake with orange frosting. I love an authentic italian cheesecake.
Pies LOVE them. Berry pie, apple pie, pecan pie, pumpkin pie, sweet potato pie, lemon pie.
COOKIES, chocolate chip is my number 1, oatmeal cookies, lemon drop cookies yum
Last but not least, I love a good custard. Lemon, Kumquat, Lime, Pineapple custard.
Strawberry shortcake with custard and whipped cream should have a catagory of it's own.
I love ice cream. Can't beat vanilla, chocolate and strawberry but also love pistachio or vanilla with dark cherries (nearly impossible to find but I used to have it as a kid.) Vanilla with warm caramel, delicious.
It's surprising I don't weigh 500 pounds. I have cut back on sugar but don't think I'll be giving it up completely. It is one of life's great pleasures. I don't have diabetes, thank-god, so sugar in moderation it is. Thank-you Dear Lord for sugar.
Growing up we rarely were allowed to buy sweets (too expensive) but I was allowed to make any sweet from scratch that I wanted. I was baking myself cookies by the time I was 6 years old.
Yes!
We are definitely on the same wavelength! I love ALL the goodies! Occasionally, and in moderation. My DH is a little "fluffy" so I try to keep the goodies to a minimum to avoid temptation. <--That was said with nothing but love. (Smile)
We didn't get to buy store-bought cookies, so an Oreo was a big deal when I was a kid. My mom was a career woman, but she always baked goodies for us and I learned to bake (and sew) when I was really young. I didn't realize the value and goodness of home-baked treats, but I sure do now...I love to bake and baking for others is one of my love languages.
