Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team
I would also believe he was
I would also believe he was stealing them. I started smoking at 15, unfortunately. I stole cigarettes once or twice. By the age of 16, I was mostly able to buy them myself...then I moved to another country where they were legal at 16.
I would not push this one. If he wants to smoke, he will smoke.
I would be fuming if he was stealing from me though. That won't happen. I also would not let him smoke in the house.
I probably sounded like I
I probably sounded like I condone it. I do not condone it one bit though.
My concern for this would be more of concern for you. As long as it is not affecting your safety and security (as in - is he stealing money from you for cigarettes, smoking at your home, etc.), then it sounds a bit like you are alone in this one? If your BF is doing nothing, and this is not harming you, then it would be sad for you to be alone in picking up the battle.
providing tobacco to a minor
providing tobacco to a minor is a $315 dollar fine in Oregon. When I was 16 I would with the tobacco task force and bought tobacco for 5 months testing businesses. But being a civilian that would be impossible to charge her with.
Not really all mom has to say
Not really all mom has to say is Jr. took them without permission.
Ok, thank you. I was looking
Ok, thank you. I was looking to try to get it to stop while at his mothers house.
He has had all electronics taken away and all he does is play games, seriously! BF even said he could write out homework instead of using his computer to do it, even if it is required.
No phone, no tv, no games, no computer. SS15 does not know what to do, so he offered to do more chores
:jawdrop:
But hey, he does the best job cleaning the kitchen!
thanks guys!
