Dear Valued Users,
It's with a heavy heart that we announce the permanent closure of StepTalk.org on August 31st, 2025.
This decision wasn't an easy one. For over twenty years, StepTalk has been a source of support for stepparents around the world! However, over the years, the costs associated with maintaining and upgrading the site to remain secure, meet current standards and maintain availability have become unsustainable.
We are incredibly grateful for your support, contributions and the community you've helped us build. Your engagement has made StepTalk.org a special place and we cherish the memories and connections made here.
We would especially like to thank Aniki for volunteering to be a moderator and for caring so much.
Thank you for being a part of our journey and we wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Dawn and The StepTalk Team

Why don't you just
Go to City Hall? It is public records. Anyone can look at them.
Hi AKA.. If it would save
Hi AKA..
If it would save you lots of money.. then I would do the payment service and find out for sure. I dont know any other way to research this, unless you have an idea WHAT town they got married in, or got their marriage certificate from.. then you can go in to that town hall and request a copy of that certificate.
I think the pay sites are normally around $25 for a fee.. But make sure the background check that you run DOES include marriages.
What makes you suspect they got married?? I think she would owe him the money back if she did get remarried and didnt tell him!!!
Good point
Good Point-What is 25 bucks when we are talking about over 1,200K per month just in Alimony. I just have a weird feeling that she is hidding something and the SS(16) seems like he isn't saying much about Mom lately, which is completely unusual. I normally have to hear MY mom is the best person alive from him on an hourly basis. He is a mama's boy big time. She is very money hungry and I wouldn't put it past her to try and hide this.
Is she someone that would
Is she someone that would have registered for gifts from her family and his? I would hit some local popular wedding registry sites.. depending on where you live.. Macy's, Target, etc.. you can do searches w/o having to know much info past the brides' name.
I honestly think she would owe you the money back if find that she was married and that she collected alimony..
Just make sure before you buy that the site you are on is going to search all states for marriage licenses that she might have applied for.
check the registries
You can search some gift registries online at the stores web site. I would the counties in and around where BM lives. If you know where BM's parents live, there may be an annoucement in their local paper. What state are in you? I do this kind of research for a living in MN. Another thought have BF request of copy of son's school records - if she got married, she may have added new hubby as contact for child or she may have changed her name. I have access to a huge pay site and I could try to help that way.
