so SO's daughter is turning 16. we get a long VERY, VERY well Smile
(there are lots issues with BM).

SO is taking her on an overnight trip. mom is taking her on a cruise and bought her tons of stuff $ $ $ $.
none of us are WEALTHY. we are all in our 30s, work Full-Time all make about the same money. (between 50K and 70K)

since i am not involved in their overnight trip i wanted to get her something just from me... special.
was looking at a nice piece of jewelry. (necklace)

how much would be "appropriate" for me to spend without BM getting her panties in a bunch?

I wouldn't worry so much about the cost, just as long as it is something that is special. Spend what you are comfortable with.

Don't worry what Bm will think. Not here concern. Buy what you want and think is appropriate.
